It popped nicely today, congrats.
I'm "diamond hands"-ing my last 25%. Maybe put in a high sell order and see if it gets filled over the next 3 months.

Anyone have any thoughts on Brookfield Property (BPY) as a place to park money in the near term?
They just reported a loss for the last quarter (to be expected), but continue to pay a fat dividend, and Brookfield Asset Mgmt has made a pitch to absorb BPY at roughly $16.80 USD a share (roughly $21.40). The stock is currently trading just a bit above $22 CAD.
It would seem to me that BAM's offer provides a solid floor for BPY in the near term. I'm already holding some (bought significantly lower) but am contemplating the wisdom of parking more money there to collect dividends until the sale goes through (or doesn't). Long term, I would expect BPY to still have some decent upside to go along with steady dividend payments, assuming the vaccines allow people to return to normal sometime this year, including shopping at malls and retail stores.
Curious to know if I'm missing something here (other than the potential for the deal with BAM to go through at a lower valuation that I pay for the stock, or the deal failing and the price taking a hit with the BAM floor removed (and then not recovering over the course of the year)).

I wonder if manwich got run off by that guy who called him out for bad advice when he was actually abundantly clear in everything he was posting?

I'm wondering the same. I'm looking at VFF right now and wondering what other people think of it.

I want to see if it can hit $5 and if it does I’m selling the rest. Small companies always gonna raise $ and that’s when I’ll look to get back in. I’ve had a lot of success waiting for financing ‘deals’. Stock always dips on the news but then back up it goes and ride the free warrants.

I'm in on BUS, it had a nice move today.
They are delivering busses this year so am expecting a bit of a pop when they report earnings. I don't think they will be profitable for a couple years, but I'm going to enjoy the ride.

Has anyone noticed NUR.V? They signed a big deal with Orange to provide telecom in regions of Africa and the deal is worth $500 mill. Even with their wild jump in price today, their market cap is approx $19.2 million which still seems really low. Am I missing something?

The markets going up on no news day after day make me think that this has got to be a bubble. It’s completely irrational. While I’m sitting at about 75% cash and missing this run up, I’m very curious how this all goes. Retail investors are jumping all in and when they get the first sense of a loss and panic I think we’ll get a glimpse of the bubble. It’s not all that concerning but it’s pretty crazy right now especially with the money being thrown at the speculative sectors.

I think we've already seen the anticipated "dip" for bitcoin and Tesla's big investment hs now bumped BTC up a floor.
Shame I had a limit order for QBTC at $45 that I missed out on by pennies last week or the week before. Up to $68 now.
In other news, ATE up another 25% today and I'm tempted to think it might do it again tomorrow. I might just have to bite the bullet and buy some today ( which will surely be the death knell for the company).
Edit: For ATE, the bump in share price the last couple of days isn't a matter of pure speculation as it turns out. They just closed a strategic licensing deal with Nuance Pharma for China, so there's some solidity to the new stock price. Their new painkiller is going through Phase III trials and would be a massive game changer if it's proven effective and without the addictive effects of oxy etc. Edit 2: Sorry - too early in the morning: it's the lack of GI effects - not lack of addictive properties - that's the big selling point for ATE's drug.

Weed stocks just keep going up. I got burned hanging on too long in 2017 during the hype over Canadian legalization. Looks like the same is happening for US legalization.
It's kind of comical how much it has gone up since I sold everything a month ago. But then I tell myself that I never would have stayed in this long.

If ever there was a time for "buy the rumour, sell the news," it's 2021so far.

I see this usually on stock offerings, usually they say not for sale in Quebec. I would imagine that there is some sort of provincial security regulation issue with the company.

Well that happened a lot quicker than I thought it would. No idea what to expect but may sell the rest now.

This is what I'm wondering.
I'm a newby to the markets (only invested in real estate before), and sitting on a large amount if cash ready to go it, but I feel I'd be best to wait for what feels like an inevitable burst and then jump in with both feet.
Are you guys mostly confident the markets will stay strong or is the general sense that we are going to see a big pullback at some point this year?

I know a guy that knows a guy that says his peeps are still very bullish and market will continue to go up until the Summer when things start to pull back and eventually leading into a recession.
I plan on selling everything in April/May and holding cash at that time.
