Bennett made Johnny and Monny better tonight.

Yep he certainly made Johnny better on Johnny's goal, when ya, Bennett wasn't anywhere on that play.

I'm sorry but Johnny made Bennett better. You know, with that assist out of nowhere, from behind the net...

So um... NO he did not.

BUT Bennett is great for that line and it's what Mony and Johnny need to succeed and I know they have done it before but I think if we could just get a little bit of playoff Bennett (without the penalties) then that line will be insane.

Seemed to work tonight!

Guys I need some advice. All six times I've worn my old Phaneuf jersey for a game this year, we've won or at least got a point. Games I haven't worn it we have lost. One time we were losing against the Leafs and I remembered to put it on mid-game. They did start to play better and tied it up but still ended up losing, so I know that partial games don't work.

Do I start wearing it each and every game? I gotta think if I do that it will lose its luck. Or do I pick and choose the important games and wear it about 65% of the time so that it has a realistic chance to keep working?

Not enough Gaudreau talk his no look pass from behind the net was pure wizardly.

Maybe even the coaching staff feels that way.

Instead, this feels too little too late and lipstick on a pig. Sam’s gone now, it’s just a matter of time. So why waste time letting him get comfortable on the top line? Then flames just have to worry about finding a replacement for him anyways.
Ugh. Bennett didn't say anything.....until he was pressed after the whole Friedman thing. Yeah his agent should've not said anything. But whatever, dude just wants an opportunity, he got one tonight and came out the other side looking like it's a start.

Maybe this is a slavaged moment. Maybe they keep playing him to boost the return. You don't just unplug though. Nothing wrong with seeing where it goes. It was a hopeful start tonight.

It's unbelievably egregious, whilst simultaneously being entirely consistent with the #NoGood reporting that comes out of that cesspool.

(Can't wait until Koskinen becomes a solid option for a non-Edmonchuck team...)

And this isn't targeted at you specifically, pylon. Frankly, it's really good to see you back and posting on the semi-regular. This is just a general observation I've made as a fan regularly participating in the GTs. Cassie Campbell receives far harsher criticism on this forum than any other commentator, despite making the same calls and observations as any other, despite being viewed as a 'homer' by other fanbases.

I would say I suspect the reason, but I know the reason.
The problem is she rambles . Other commentators do to but they notice it and stop themselves apologize to the php then let the php continue. When Cassie's on there is no self awareness. Like she is there trying to out do here broadcast partner. Maybe trying to over correct on Flames broadcast because here husband is part of the Flames . I don't know but shes not a team player when shes on. How she is employed and leah hextall isn't is a mystery.

Always a great result to beat the Oil. And I hope the Bennett thing continues to be a good problem, either works out here, or increases his value for being moved.
And as always Ha ha Oilers!

Sam Bennett played tonight like he should be considered for the Lady Byng.....he shut down his own line with the exception of a few shifts

Among other positives tonight, we should have high regard for Zack Kassian. He had a perfect statline tonight: 0g, 0a, 0pts, +/- 0, 9:52 toi, 3.2mil/year. He might be the perfect Oiler.

Haven’t seen all of the posts... has it been mentioned how hilarious abd Oileresque it is that the Oil played McAvi and Raisaitl for the last full 6 minutes of the game?

Ovechkin, hold my beer
Other coaches, hold my beer. I have a message to send to 14 of my players

I cannot believe this, in a win, people whine about Bennett, whine about Cassie. Good Lord, was there no player or play to talk or be happy about?

Agreed, although, they were invisible in the first period. Penalties?

Probably.
