Nothing to do with the McDavid incident, I think that was a right non-call.
I was saying that if a defensive player dives and hits the puck, then trips the player it is a penalty. A couple years ago they changed the rule. Previous to the rule change, if the defenceman hits the puck first, it wasn't a penalty.

Of all the stupid things this panel has ever said, "he has the right of way there" is by far the stupidest.
I can't believe Bieksa didn't lose it, there. No defenseman in the history of hockey is going to say "after you, I believe you have the right of way here"

Sorry, but McDavid is already falling as Tanev makes contact.
Gio taps the laces on his left foot, but that doesn't seem likely the reason he fell.
McDavid was going to crash into Markstrom no matter what, which makes it goaltender interference. Tanev could have been called for tripping though as well IMO.

What the hell am I listening to this intermission?
I can get on board with not giving mcdavid a penalty but Calgary shouldn’t get a tripping call either.
Also if mcdavid gets a bit of a step you let him cut in front of the net because he has the right of way? If any of our defencemen do that they should sit for the period.
