They’re lucky it’s only 2-1. With that effort it’s going to end up being a lot worse. Have to question the overall heart and talent of this team. We don’t seem to have much of either.

That’s the hardest part. We have gone through lots of ups and downs but this lack of identity is brutal. We don’t push the pace, we aren’t physical, we aren’t hard defensively, we aren’t young guys learning the ropes. Just absolutely weak in every category. Poise, discipline and play direct with short passes. New guys in the lineup need to settle down.

Take what is given instead of throwing it trying to get a forecheck. Have some poise boys and start playing your game.

That was about as bad a period as I’ve seen them play, without Marky we’d be down 4 or 5 to 1. Luckily the first is usually the worst for the Flames. They outscore the Oilers 5-1 the rest of the way.
