Just pepper that chump with shots and a few are sure to leak through. Oilers have benefitted from a pretty nice schedule so far as well. 8 home games, only 4 away (also noticed they get back to back Ottawa again after tonight’s game). Yes, McDavid and Draisaitl are uber-dangerous and hard to contain but their D corps and overall defensive play is atrocious. 3rd last in GA, 5th last in GA/game, 7th last in PK%, 8th last in CF%, bottom 10 in FF%, 5th last in xGA, 6th last in HDCA and I could go on as on. They are basically bottom 10 or worse in EVERY measurable defensive stat out there. They’ve also had the advantage of feasting on poor goaltending. In their 6 wins, they played against a goalie sporting a GAA less that 3 once (2.98) and Sv% over .900 once (.918). The opposing goalies have a combined average GAA of 3.47 and Sv% of .887. If you can somewhat contain McCherrypicker and his side kick you have a high probability to win.

Time to quit talking Flames and start playing.
No more player meetings , telling us all about the love in the room and how your playing and accountable to each other.
Let's make that William H Macey look on McDavid stick for good.
Take the trogledite Kassian and put him in the penalty box for 3 or more and score each time.
I wanna see Tippett complete the unibrow look by growing the rest of the hair between his eyebrows for the full on Edmonton look.
So much to hate about the oil ....I hate that we are struggling way more than we need....we are are own worst enemies .
I hope we can play a full game....is that too much to ask.? We need to start playing the way the roster looks on paper .

Like some one mentioned earlier, sometimes sitting a player can create a reverse reaction to what you need from them. Sitting someone like Lucic may not make the team better over the season if he can't have the opportunity to get his decision making sharpened up with game experience during the season. Even he has had some sneaky playmaking at times. Also as unpleasant as Backlund has been so far, he's still one of our better forwards and was largely responsible for helping create the chance last game that led to our lone goal. I don't think it's be a good idea to bench him either.

The last couple of years it's been the 3M line or Tkachuk-Backlund-Mangiapaine vs McDavids line.
Not sure what the plan is tonight. Certainly cant do Bennett-Backlund-Lucic. They'll get murdered.
The Tkachuk-Lindholm-Dube line I guess, but they were all -3 last game.

From my internet detective skills last time (at home, I assume they didn't wear them on the road that year) was Feb 1, 2006 from what I can tell.

Almost exactly 15 years ago. It was Gio's second NHL game, and his first played in Calgary.
