I've been a fan of this team since its inception. If the Flames acquire D'Angelo, I'll be done with the team and the NHL

How many times does anyone drop the gloves nowadays? And who is going to fight Lucic? Enforcers don't exist anymore.

I don’t believe this at all. Francis and Boomer have denied any interest and all this noise is coming out of New York.
This room seems fragile as is and Deangelo is only going to make it worse.

At this stage, if you’re Sam Bennett, and you’re being told you’re “unfortunately” being traded to the New York Rangers.......
Home run central. They should start that call with congratulating him.

Tough job to do when you are him and thought of as being the toughest guy in the league. Last time he went after someone for being dirty, he got suspended.

I'm just saying he's an ineffective player overall and an ineffective enforcer

Sure they take Lucic and eat half of ADA salary and the Flames stick him in the ECHL

Honestly will be shocked if Treliving trades for this guy after the whole Peters Fiasco. I get it that he has talent but if your trying to trade Bennett because he’s a distraction it would make absolutely no sense to trade for a much bigger and polarized distraction... hockey skills not withstanding.

They aren't trading Bennett because he is a distraction. They are trading him because his agent let it slip that he would be interested in a change of scenery.

It seemed to me that Treliving took care of the situation with Peters but did Treliving ever make a personal public statement around racism?
Just curious. I just remember he was pretty cold in his responses everytime the media asked him questions.

Which is now a distraction for the team and one that they shouldn’t let fester. Not trying to split hairs but I think my point stands.

What does Peters and racism have to do with D'Angelo? Have I missed something?

If a third line player asking for a trade gets in these guys heads that much there's a much larger problem here. Which could be the case, this team doesn't seem very mentally strong.

All I can get

I'm not convinced having Tony Angelo part of the defensive core make the Flames light-out better, hockey-wise. And certainly not enough to offset the off-ice issues.

Normally, a 50pt, right shot D-man would help a team a lot, but you're right-too many off-ice issues will offset that.

Exactly... it’s concerning but the team kinda played like a friend was absent tonight and it was a piss off. Jekyll and Hyde story continues to be an issue for the Flames... I do think it’s still early and they can put it together... but then tonight. Hopefully they do trade Bennett though and we can just move on from that 4th overall bust vibe finally... it’s sad that all I’ll really remember is he could grow a Lanny stache, he had a 4 goal game and he could turn up the heat in the playoffs... oh and that hit with 20 seconds left in the game against San Jose.

“That type of behavior just has no place,” Treliving said Friday.
The allegations led to stern rebukes from team officials and the NHL even before they concluded their investigations.
Treliving called the allegations “repulsive” and said, “This is subject matter that has no place in our organization.” The NHL called the alleged behavior “repugnant and unacceptable.”

"This is the most difficult thing in my career," Treliving told reporters.
"The subject matter we've been dealing with over the last few days is difficult, it's hard, and it does not in any way reflect the core values of the Calgary Flames."
"If I've not met anyone's time agenda I apologize but it was more important to make sure we get all of the information," Treliving said.
He said he personally found the allegations against Peters "repulsive" but the investigation had to be done fairly.
"I know everybody wants a really quick gavel to come into play," Treliving said. "We had to make sure it was done thoroughly."

I think he used a slur on a teammate? That, and his undying love for Trump-which may imply racism.
