Ya, I hate to say it but it starts at the very top. Time for the owners to sell the team.

Riddell and Joyce gone too.

What's the point of that list?

This is embarrassing, you guys should give your heads a shake! This kind of start/rough patch happens every year...its nothing. I mean every year its like the same song and dance from some fans, team plays bad and fans call to blow it up but the team sticks with their current core and wins nothing. The following year, team plays bad and fans call to blow it up but the team sticks with their current core and wins nothing. This year is different though, the team is playing bad and fans have called to blow it up while management is sticking with the current core....wait a second!

The Calgary Flames are no good, mediocre garbage going on 30 years now, minus a couple of flashes in the pan. All I want is to have a winner to cheer for finally, but it ain't happening with this useless franchise.

Just be patient though, right?

Get a real coach first.
Give that a try and if it's still busted, blow it up.

I think the roster is better than what we're seeing. This season more than ever, good coaching is going to win a lot of hockey games. Teams are making more efforts to study each other and make adjustments since you're playing the same teams all the time.
Ward is getting schooled badly.

I’ve done it, numerous times, so can relate. Worst property in the Fairmont portfolio. Yet still the best hotel in Winnipeg. So damning with faint praise, I guess.

These types of threads and the GT are honestly embarrassing.
Normally I’d agree. But our goalie is the reason we won in three of those four games.

Am I crazy? After last year's disappointing playoffs, didn't the Calgary media swear up and down that significant changes were coming to the core? That's all Steinberg and the rest of those goofs talked about all off season right?

Well?

Get a coach. No more assistants. A real system. Not some on the fly innovation these assistants are clearly incapable of implementing.
Hartley was at least a character. Sutter was the last high profile guy with some credibility around the league. Gallant is available isn’t he? Boudreau coached the caps to regular season dominance. Ask sutter as a fa or to the franchise until a better option emerges? This window for contention is closing fast. Find some way to prop it open before it shuts permanently.

No chance Tre calls up owners saying he needs to replace coach. They would just give him his pink slip. Ward is the coach till the end of year. If flames miss playoffs I can almost guarantee you it will cost Tre his job. I really like Tre but he hitched his wagon to the wrong guy.

Don’t get me wrong this core needs a shakeup . Been saying that for a while. But even with new core , Ward won’t be able to do it.

The way I see it this "core" has till 22-23 before being rearranged. The Gaudreau, Gio and Tkachuk contracts all coming to a head. Likewise Lucic's contract could be reasonably bought out then.

That said, the trigger to initiate change could come at any time.

I still think the Flames wait till next season, or after the expansion draft to give this team a serious renovation. It just makes more sense pragmatically. However if "an offer you can't refuse" comes to light they have to take it.

Ok, so we fire the coach. Who do we get to replace him? Nobody with name recognition is available that I can think of....

Hasn't it also been said that Tre is not allowed by ownership to hire an expensive coach?

Gallant and Boudreau. Boudreau said he would coach anywhere.

Boudreau costs money, and Gallant seems to wear out his welcome everywhere he goes. I would love either one though.

Ownership said that there was no internal cap on the covid season but it still wouldnt surprise me if they wouldn't pay for a coach
