Maybe around the league in terms of GM's Bennett is more valued then a lot of posters in this forum think. I am hoping that is the case and that we might be surprised at the return if/when a trade happens.

Good contribution in a small number of games. He played well last playoffs, not taking it away from him. Unfortunately his ratio of good to bad games overall is horrendous.

But this is also a massive indictment of guys like Johnny, Monny, Gio, etc. If Bennett is your franchise best player in the playoffs you aren't going to win. Explains our playoff record perfectly.

No confirmation on this at ALL, however, the person I talk with about the Flames is generally right, so we'll see....

Why would Bennett being traded before the game be more of a distraction, the players already know this is happening...

That sounds like it's more about the player brought in than Bennett... Which totally sounds like it's going to be DeAngelo.

It's not DeAngelo. Aside from the fact he is what he is as a human, the position and cap don't work.

If there were a trade in place, the only reasons not to announce are 1) that it isn't finalized, or 2) that the other player can't be reached for notification.

Waiting because it is disruptive is silly - it will be just as disruptive after the game

DeAngelo wouldnt make sense. We dont have the cap space. And where would he even slot in anyways? If Gio plays less minutes then I think we already have a strong top 6 with guys in the taxi squad knocking on the door.

When Bennett gets moved it will be for a forward.
