Might as well re-hire Bill Peters back if we are looking to add racist POS to this team.

The only way I'd want the Flames to do their due diligence is to work with the Rangers to dump a bad contract, and then buy DeAngelo out.
DeAngelo in a Flames sweater would make me sick.

DeAngelo for Lucic..
I probably still wouldn't want him anywhere near the team.

If it gets to the point of ownership approval for the deal, Brad should be fired on the spot. He should be smarter than this to think he can try and change the guy.
|
If I had to guess he's simply kicking tires to see if the Rangers are desperate enough to get rid of him that they take on the Lucic contract.

This is not quite the same situation but when Hoffman became available everyone here didn't want to touch him with a ten foot pole and we missed out on a player who could have completely changed the team. This may be different but there is no harm in doing due diligence.

How do people think that pundits like MacKenzie go about getting this sort of information? He knows people in the organisations who see and hear things. Of course, there is no guarantee that informants are going to provide adequate context...
Who called whom?
What was the call about?
Why was D'Angelo discussed?
I can think of other reasons why Treliving would be discussing D'Angelo than to attempt to acquire him.

"Not quite the same situation"?
It is not even remotely close to the same.

I think that's exactly what he's doing. Finding out the market, what NY is asking, how much they're willing to retain, etc. None of that means he's interested in actually acquiring him though.
I'd say there is zero chance he becomes a member of the Flames. I think the precedent has been set with Peters, not to mention Voynov and that dirtbag the Coyotes drafted.

Tre's playing Cat and Mouse with Gorton.
Obviously it's a last minute switch-a-roo for Adam Fox. Because, payback.

I too am a fan from the old Corral days. I would be pissed if we took on this dirtbag. His next stop should be the KHL.

You guys can all relax. Molberg has tweeted that according to his source at the Saddledome the Flames have no interest in acquiring D'Angelo.

There were lots of people threatening to stop being fans when Smith, Fuhr, Marchment, then Bertuzzi joined the team.
That said, Treliving likely sniffing around the Rangers more to see what they are valuing other players at...with this guy leaving, and leaving a hole on the backend...maybe they need a Kylington. Or expand it and they need a Kylington and a Bennett.

I'll switch to Seattle so fast if Calgary trades for DeAngelo.

To be fair, I think it's been established that the fault in the whole Karlsson/Hoffman feud lies with Karlsson's wife-no evidence of any wrongdoing was found on the Hoffman's part.
I know you aren't making allegations, just illustrating the point of view of this board.

I can't find what he said and to who. Where are you getting that information? I'm actually not trying to be obtuse or difficult. I don't really pay attention to this stuff

I have an idea.
Instead of having this thread, what if....
We didn't trade away all our RHS defencemen? Hamilton, Fox...

It seems like no matter who is available, whether it be through free agency or a trade, the TSN insiders link Calgary to it. Like Every. Single. Time....
I think Tre just likes talking on the phone.
