Default What book are you?

Internet quizzes are sometimes fun, sometimes too long, sometimes meaningless... However, I took this one, and thought it was pretty cool. A mere 6 questions so it won't take forever, but the results are pretty interesting.

You're Loosely Based!

While most people haven't heard of you, you're a really good and interesting person. Rather clever and witty, you crack a lot of jokes about the world around you. You do have a serious side, however, where your interest covers the homeless and the inequalities of society. You're good at bringing people together, but they keep asking you what your name means.

So, what book are you? And now that you know, are you going to read yourself? I think I'll give it a try...

You're Compassion Fatigue!
by Susan Moeller
You used to care, but now it's just getting too difficult. You cared about the plight of people in lands near and far, but now the media has bombarded you with images of suffering to the point that you just don't have the energy to go on. You've become cold and heartless, as though you'd lived in New York City for a year or so. But you stand as a serious example to all others that they should turn off their TV sets and start caring again.

Is it accurate? I'd say mine was fairly accurate...

Yeah, sort of. I used to care, then I worked at a hospital for 5 years and am now completely jaded. And my current career path relates to the media. lol.

You're The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!
by Douglas Adams
Considered by many to be one of the funniest people around, you are quite an entertainer. You've also traveled to the far reaches of what you deem possible, often confused and unsure of yourself. Life continues to jostle you around like a marble, but it's shown you so much of the world that you don't care. Wacky adventures continue to lie ahead. Your favorite number is 42.

You're Night!
by Elie Wiesel
You've had some truly horrific experiences, especially recently, and you can barely stand to discuss them. While many people are afraid of getting close to you because of this, it has also built a fascination and admiration of you that is hard to rival. You know that things are about to get better soon, but that the trauma will be impossible to forget. You are short, but powerful.

If this is really what I'm like then I think I need to rethink some of my life choices. Although, it does seem to pretty much nail my life as a graduate student.

You're The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!
by C.S. Lewis
You were just looking for some decent clothes when everything changed quite dramatically. For the better or for the worse, it is still hard to tell. Now it seems like winter will never end and you feel cursed. Soon there will be an epic struggle between two forces in your life and you are very concerned about a betrayal that could turn the balance. If this makes it sound like you're re-enacting Christian theological events, that may or may not be coincidence. When in doubt, put your trust in zoo animals.

You're Prufrock and Other Observations!
by T.S. Eliot
Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poetic and lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people trying to impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you've really heard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons.

i don't even like coffee

after a little research on the book, i ain't touchin' the thing
and i now know why they mentioned coffee spoons

You're Ulysses!
by James Joyce
Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

Ha ha. I knew it was going to be this after the first question about being long-winded and I answered yes. I do have a copy of this book somewhere but I'm sure as hell not going to try to read it again. I learned my lesson the first time.

It's not very accurate. I guess I am kind of vulgar but I haven't convinced anyone that I am brilliant. I do wander aimlessly, but I'm not content doing so.

Coming up from a childhood that felt abusive, you have risen through hard work to gain a place of stature in your life. You've spent altogether too much time in factories and end up misspelling a fair number of words. But in general you are seen as a beacon of hope for others who might not be as fortunate. Lots of people keep mistaking you for a magician and are waiting for you to disappear.
Not bad considering it's only 6 questions long.

You're Anne of Green Gables!
by L.M. Montgomery
Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You're impulsive, rash, honest, and probably don't have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn't exactly treat others with kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters. You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it.

The funny thing is, the thing is right on, except for the part about my parents.

I get along great with them, most of the time.
