Oilers are so bad defensively. I'd be real choked if we lose to these losers on Saturday.

No point playing him if he already has his allotted goals for the month.

So the Oilers have waived Alex Chiasson ($2.1M salary) and healthy scratched James Neal ($5.75M). I assume Chiasson wasn't playing phenomally to deserved be waived.

$2.1M +5.75M = $7.8M on bad players. That's some damned fine salary cap management.

Add another $750,000 on to that total for paying Lucic to play for the Flames and it’s over $8.5 million.

To put that into context, the Flames have pretty a pretty notorious lack of goaltending success themselves, and since Dubnyk's draft (2004) the Flames have drafted 10 goalies:

Matt Keetley, 2005 (1 GP)
Kevin Lalande, 2005
Leland Irving, 2006 (13 GP)
Joni Ortio, 2009 (37 GP)
Laurent Brossoit, 2011 (70 GP)
Jon Gillies, 2012 (12 GP)
Mason McDonald, 2014
Tyler Parsons, 2016
Dustin Wolf, 2019
Daniil Chechelev, 2020

Bold still active in the NHL, or in the Flames system.

Flames history can't be much better. David Rittich was a UDFA

Markstrom and our D's advantage over their back end should negate their McDry advantage up front.

Win the depth vs. derpth battle and your chances are good.

Any idea which dud we'll see in net for them by that point?

Are those games played all for the Flames? I don't think Brossoit has played 70 for the Flames.

Also, how much of the game does a goalie have to play for it to be counted as a "complete game"? Does the GP stat mean the same as complete game?

I'm asking because the tweet refers to a complete-game, and it would be interesting to see the Flames numbers using that same measure.

Seriously, Gregor on Edmonton radio bragging about the fact that McDavid has 15 points in the last 5 games, and 0 shots on goal 5 on 5, during those same 5 games. That’s not something to brag about you moron. Just shows he’s not much more than a powerplay specialist.

Connor is a PP/100 ft specialist.

Present day McGrattan is probably better in the faceoff circle.

I wonder if it burns his bacon a little that Draisaitl has been beating him at his own game since last year.

Yeah, Brossoit doesn’t count. But Ortio, Irving and Gillies do.

The Flames have had terrible luck drafting goalies (and some of their picks looked really good). But the Oilers have them beat badly.
