Which company is it??The condo I am in had an Alarm force system in it when I bought it.They want i think it was 24 bucks a month, which was 5 yrs ago.I said no thanks and they came and removed it right away. But the stickers on the doors and windows are still up which are just as good if you ask me.

We phoned the company to see what the rates are. They say $20/month if we sign a 3 year contract. Phone back a while later and ask what it is just to have the alarm beep and go off without the company not phoning the police and stuff. Now the cost is $20 per month just so the alarm works or $26 per month for monitoring. They are sort of changing numbers and acting weasally.

If I tell them to go pee up a tree, will the alarm still work? Can they come in a remove it? Do they own it?

Thoughts?
I don't think they own the alarm. Afterall the alarm isn't really worth anything, compared to a monitoring contract especially if you keep it for like 2 extra years. I fell for one of those years back and when I cancelled the contract they didn't ask for the system back. I think the alarm will still work. Problem is if it goes off when you're out of town and no one can be contacted, it might go off for quite awhile.

my parents had an old one when they moved in. Called to get it reactivated, they took too long. Long story short, they called ADT and had them install one and threw the other one in the garbage. The other company was miffed, but what can they do about it? They dragged their asses on it.

my former company didn't even want the alarm back, they said they leave it there just incase the new people want it.

In my opinion you now own it as part of the house, with that in mind you can use a way cheaper monitoring company, since you already own the system. $9.99.month. When you get a monitored system you usually save 10-15% on home insurance, negating the $10/month cost (or close to it). I just can't rememberr the name of the $9.99 company, but they had a catchy ad.

It costs less than $150 to get a handgun and to register it.

Or get a rotweiler.

It'll take some craftsmanship and wiring, but if you ask any meth cooker, the answer is unequivocally a yes.
