In the meantime, Gaudreau is having a great start to the regular season.

Mostly.

I seem to recall that Gaudreau was on the ice when the Flames gave up the truly awful shorthanded 3-on-1. That power play was a goat rope, but that particular rush was the turd in the punchbowl.

If he wasn't on the ice at that time, then I will happily edit out the word ‘mostly’.

Lindholm played more than 24 and a half minutes, and had 2 points.

I will believe they can until they don't.
As an aside, I thought Mangiapane looked good with JG and SM.

This taken from the Game Takes of Bingo tonight.

Looks like some fancy stats support the claim of Bonded that they were indeed bad tonight.

Even better was the goaltending by Markstrom. Not often do you see the Flames win a goaltending battle with the opposition team.

Might want to get yourself more used to it.

I think we have a top five guy on the continent.

Such a blessing that we would be unwise to squander with another poor playoffs, if we make it.

But 5v5, him and Chucky were dominated.

With Lindholm on the ice at 5v5, shot attempts were 18-3 Montreal, shots were 11-2 Montreal, scoring chances were 11-1 Montreal and high danger chances were 7-0 Montreal.

They had a brutal night of hockey 5v5, but that's likely just a blip considering they've been insanely dominant the entire season so far.

Just like there's positives sometimes to take from losses (the Flames played way better and deserved much better than their 0 points in 3 games would suggest), there's also negatives sometimes to take from wins, like tonight.

Great that they got the 2 points, but playing the type of hockey they played tonight won't get them 2 points often.

Remember when hockey was about winning and loosing? not what some clown in Montreal pretends the scoring chances are

4 scoring chances lol

F right off...they had four open shots in the slot in one shift

Nordstom had two glorious chances on one rush that Allen had a horse shoe up his ass to keep it out

Lmao calm down there buddy.

I've said in all my posts I'm happy the Flames got the two points, but in reality they're not going to win many games playing the way they did tonight.

We're just different types of fans, you and I. That's completely fine, as there's many different types of fans with no type being more right/wrong than the other. You might like to just simply look at wins and losses and be happy/mad based solely on that (which is completely fine, I'm not trying to insult you) and I just like to also look behind the results and see whether the results were deserved and/or sustainable moving forward.

I'm happy with the win and am enjoying it as much as you, but I also like to look ahead.

Cheers, bud.

Not to mention Kotkaniemi instantly turned outta nowhere, which Dube definitely wasn't expecting.

I do think there was head contact and a little bit of a jump, but if anything it 100% was more of a reactionary play rather than Dube actually going for a hit.

The only jump was Dube straightening up from a skating position, and his forearms hit chest and he pushed out. At most they grazed the chin.

I agree, Dube wasn’t looking for it.

Was it just me or did we not get replays for any Flames penalties?

Are you kidding? Now the obsession over the other team’s fans heat of the moment posts from other message boards begins. We’re just getting started with the negativity.

Best way to do that? Counter it with some fiery homerism of course.

wasn't saying anything about you...those scoring chances are wrong though so don't use them to prove a point

Craig Button on TSN saying he should get two games because the principal point of contact was his head.

Only it wasn’t. You can see his head snap back after his chest has already started going backwards (as Dube extends through the hit). Great analysis Craig.

Edit: watched it a few more times and it looks like there may have been some contact between the chin area and Dube’s shoulder, but the main point of contact is still the chest. Also, if the main point of contact was his head, he wouldn’t have gotten up from that kind of impact.
