That hit though... the dude is a gem! I want to see the flames try Mangiapane with Gaudreau and Monahan to start next game too.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Mangiapane
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Dube

Run with that as the top 6

Thought the Flames came out gangbusters...and I liked how they played a lot of the night. Tanev continues to impress. Marky as advertised. Valimaki got a bit of redemption with some good plays (happy to see that for the kid!).

Were they perfect? No. Did they dominate the game? No. But they gutted out a tough win against a very determined opponent. Some posters here DO have to remember that the other team isn't just handing out games....wow.

Playing a 60-minute game doesn't mean dominating for the whole time. It DOES mean being involved, attentive and passionately careful. Were they? Mostly...but not always careful.

Happy with the game, happy with the outcome. Want to see them build on it, not just let it slide as "accomplished!".

He has a motor that’s lacking in a lot of the others. And he plays a fearless game.

Nice to see the Yanet turn, been too long.

Also, really nice to see Gaudreau shoot with some confidence. Really nice snipe for the GWG.

Game Takes: Flames 2 Habs 0

- Markstrom steals two points, that's the game story
- Gaudreau keeps his points streak alive with first period game winner
- face plant second period keeps Calgary streak of less than 60 alive
- better third at least

Flames win!!! Some really pathetic posters in here tonight. Not every win is going to be dominant. Sometimes both teams are playing well and they make the other team look bad for portions of the game. We had the edge in a tight game.

Ya I don’t get it. If I’m the CEO of SN I would be saying to all the arenas, we got no fans so let’s try some interesting camera angles (could the main cameras have been any higher tonight?), maybe some booms or hell maybe even drones with cameras flying around. That would be so cool.

I was hoping the NHL would have done some really fun things last year in the bubble with only two arenas.

It has to be a huge concern for Treliving.

A couple of the very top end Fs lack the grit and/or motor that makes or breaks a team!

Love the D , goaltending....concerned about the top end Fs.

Dube , Mangiapane, Backlund , Leivo etc are going to be fine.

Captain Canada.

He should always retain that moniker.

Actually, it is a saying ...in the hockey realm, as well!

I thought Monahan and Lindholm played a fairly vigorous game tonight and Gaudreau made a nice defensive play covering for a D. I thought Tkachuk played too cute with a few blind passes.

I think I need an example where it was used. Otherwise I stand by my assertion.

I’ve heard things like “it’s no Rembrandt” when referring to an ugly win.

I thought Tkachuk had a really poor game. Otherwise, I can't really complain. Love having a goalie that has the ability to be your best player on any given night.

In the last 62 minutes against Montreal we’ve outscored them 4-0.

Suck it Habs.

Aside from Tkachuk, who wasn’t horrible - just a little cute like I said, I thought Backlund had a few bad decisions in the offensive zone, when Leivo and Bennett had established pretty good possession.
