I don’t think he’s some superstar in waiting, but when an organization takes their best player in the playoffs and slaps him on the 4th line while rewarding two random 700K signings, I’m not sure how they expect to win anything.

Winning is a culture thing and this team doesn’t have it.

I expect he’s worth a 2nd round pick in draft capital.

Although it’s more likely a hockey trade for a useful player.

Trading him makes sense for both sides anyway. There are a handful of teams that can give him a better opportunity then we are giving him.

Yeah it's time to part ways. I think he could flourish under a change of scenery. I hope we get another forward in the deal though. Just because I think the Flames would play Ritchie/Rinaldo/Robinson before they give Gawdin/Phillips/Ruzicka an opportunity.

Keeping the guys who don't perform in the playoffs and losing the guys who do sounds about par for the course the way the Flames do things.

Doesn't surprise me. Team management blithered on and on after the playoffs about Bennett being a centre this season - Treleving, Ward. He gets two periods and back to the 4th line he goes. I wish him all the best.

No, winning is a skill and talent thing.

Identity and culture are buzzwords that people use who don’t know how else to analyze hockey.

I’d like to see a player like Cody Glass targeted. Vegas is sitting him every other game, he’s only 21 and a RW.

Well, okay - Bennett was our best player in the playoffs, and we seem to be on the brink of losing that...so, winning!
