My guess is their top targets aren’t available and they don’t want to spend money on short term options that they don’t feel are an upgrade.

Well that turned out entirely disappointing. I thought we looked decent in the first half and just got carved up in the second.

No kidding. Man...if I was Jose or a Spurs fan I'd be choked.

We played with 0.75 Centrebacks the entire game....away from home.

I think a tactician would think to attack a weakness like that. Maybe Jose is too smart for that?

I thought that in the first half we had some good chances, and scored a goal (which I suppose is offside, but that was ridiculous as usual). Kane going off at half is obviously not good, but I would've thought that we could mount more offence than we did.

We shall settle this once and for all!

Kane vs. Matip for the lightweight 'Most Often Injured' Championship of the World!

Kane is just injured every year now. It’s a question of how long he’s out, and whether we cope well without him.

Kane's a heavyweight! He cant even touch Matip in terms of being most often-injured!

Can we turf Mourinho yet or nah? Currently on pace for 66 points but that's really boosted by the early season results, which are looking more and more like they were a mirage. Form over the last 10 games over a season would have them at 49, which is bottom-half of the league most seasons.

We might almost already be there.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Serge Aurier didn’t have a very good match against Liverpool, but he’s probably in hot water now for more than his bad defending. According to Matt Law in the Telegraph (£), Aurier left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium entirely after being substituted at halftime, and was not present to watch his team in the second half.

Finally able to watch the game today and very disappointed.

Things could have been different if the Son goal wasn't ruled offside. Kane getting hurt didn't help either and is a big blow if he misses a couple weeks as is speculated.

Bringing on Lamela instead of Vinicius to replace Kane was dumb - especially when down. Whats the point of getting a back-up striker if you arent going to use him?

The defence was not good. Dier has done a lot better than I expected him to this year, but I don't think he should be a consistent starter on a (hopefully) top-4 club. The worst part is, he is the best CB the Spurs have right now. Rodon looks promising but he's a kid. Toby's best years are behind him.

As much as I love PEH, and the fact that Ndombele has gone complete beast-mode the last few months, they are missing a key connection between offence to defence. Moose and Winks are not it. Someone needs to bring the ball forward between PEH and Ndombele. I thought that was going to be Lo Celso, but he hasn't been seen.

Rumours around Marcel Sabitzer at Leipzig and Skriniar at Inter would help alleviate those problems, but I don't think the Spurs have that much money - maybe Poch will back that PSG Brinks truck up to get Dele

Spurs are 2nd in the league in high danger chances, or were as of last week, in the league behind man city, the too defensive narrative is really strange

Also I fail to see how aurier leaving at half time is Mourinhos fault, or his fault that lloris couldn't have played the first two goals more poorly

Where you going for advanced stats?
I used to use the iOS FourFourTwo, APP, but that’s long gone.

Rashford taking 80 touches from three yards out for whatever reason.

That’s one of the most ridiculous non-penalties you’ll see. He’s basically playing goal and makes the save. I don’t see how you can justify that with “it might have come of his thigh”.

Agreed. His arms are spread wide, in a way to take away the net from the shooter.

Who the hell are the Spurs?

For the obvious reason that he didn't have a shot at goal.

And why are the commentators talking about Odegaard and referring to him as "a wonderkid"? He's 22 and has done basically eff all. If he's a wonderkid then Greenwood is a superstar.

I have really mixed feelings about that first half.

I feel like West Ham has done well defensively, but they need a bit more possession. They have also made some poor decisions when they have had scoring opportunities.
