We know what this team is, there is no mystery, they’re not all of a sudden going to flip a switch and be like “oh right this is how to win!”. They’re a mid tier team with a flawed construction, no top end talent down the middle, and our best players are very slow.
A whole lot of truth in here. The organization keeps fiddling with the edges of the team thinking something fundamental will change. Two wins vs Vancouver and we were ready to buy in.

Still time for lots of entertaining hockey this year. Can’t change the fact that none of the Canadian teams are that great so there’s hope.

Only reason I could see that happening is because it was a late night the night b4.

I hope I’m wrong cause I have never been the guy to speculate about the after hour stuff but man... to come within 2 and sit 2 of the best players on this team?
I imagine he figured the game was lost and he wanted the 2nd unit to get a little more playing time.

I still figure Calgary will finish at least 2nd. Just watch.

And then lose in the first round.

Austin Powers scores. Why can't we score goals when it matters.

I was a huge advocate to make big changes to forward group but I think the market dynamics changed dramatically in the off season due to covid
I still think and hope it happens but I don’t take issue with signing a true number one as the position has been a problem since Kipper
The team finally addressing that need is an odd thing to criticize.
In fact you yourself has criticized him for not getting a proper number 1.

I mentioned in another thread. Lots of time

The next 12 games are
1 game vs Mtl
4 vs Wpg
4 vs Van
3 vs Edm

Then they have another 2 vs Toronto
And then 5 of 6 vs Ottawa

Lots of good matchups to make up ground

Sens are terrible
Oilers are 3 games under .500
Vancouver is .500 because they swept the Sens

Flames can't panic, they really aren't behind at all in the playoff race. can't do anything now anyway

Big changes can come in a "normal" offseason if things don't go well

I’m shocked at how many apologists there are here. Seems there’s always an excuse for the Flames sucking. The reality is they just suck. I’ve been a diehard since 86’ and have endured a pile of crap seasons but honestly this team has me wanting to take a break from hockey for a while. So frustrating.

The entire season is against teams in the division.

Lots of time to make up ground and of course impact of losses are more pronounced too. Let’s start with beating a team other than Vancouver.

Is it a good time to blow out? I think this year there will be lots of sell out teams and price of our top players will be not good. I would retool and try to steal some good players from other teams.

I'm shocked with those so willing throw in the towel when the team has a rough patch of games.

Win a few games and everyone is back on the bandwagon.

The talent is there but not the consistancy.

And 16 of the next 20 are against teams that I think are not as good as Montreal and Toronto

I'm shocked people can't see a multi year pattern and keep saying things like "rough patch of games".

We are 6 games in to the season and the last 2 have been duds.

I’m shocked people are writing off a season where you are 6/56 done
