Oh my god, that is amazing. Going to start calling everyone pork chops from now on.

One of my work buddies uses it all the time. Super nice guy and I've heard him curse when he gets angry, but yeah... says "pee" all the time.

"Pee" of course is just the spelling out of "P" so it's the equivalent of saying "oh I have to go do a S". Sounds very juvenile.

Reminds me of this term my Chinese friends taught me.

I say pee... and I don’t know why. The word “piss” sounds so negative and makes me recoil. While I casually swear in most conversations....

Although, I also don’t ever say “I’m going to go pee”. Saying it in any fashion is weird. I don’t need the details... I just say “I’ll be right back” or “heading to the washroom” if people are really keeping tabs on me.

My wife and I have a 4 month old and I'm somewhat nervous about what his first word is going to be.

Yeah, "piss" is a bit much for my ears, too. I usually just say "I have to go to the bathroom" or "I'm going to hit the bathroom" if for whatever reason I need to announce it. Sounds a bit weird to say "pee" to me.

Same. I actually hate when people inform everyone of their bio-needs in detail.

I was thinking along the same. I usually say that I'm going to the washroom if any explanation at all is needed or given lol. Usually I just go.
That being said, when I speak about it in the past sense, I do use the word pee. As in "i just went pee behind the shed" or something similar. I just went Piss sounds funny to me. I just pissed on maybe... I dunno there's something odd there with the words imo.

Did P really just emerge as a contraction to single letter of piss? Genuinely curious.

I used to swear like a sailor, but now I hate swearing. Nothing really happened to make me switch, I just slowly changed and now I find it incredibly annoying. It isn't even a conscious effort, I just do what comes naturally. I'll slip when I'm frustrated, I have a short fuse and I'm not perfect, but I think swearing is just dumb.

Well I’m glad I brought it up because it’s interesting to see people agree with exact scenarios I’ve always found weird.

Like out camping or something and someone says “I was taking a piss” I think “why are you so angry”. I’ve always found it off putting, and not because it’s offensive or anything. Just sounds unnecessarily aggressive to me or something.

I think the "ss" sound at the end is similar to the sound of a stream water which makes things kinda uncomfortable for someone who has to urinate. Perhaps that's the reason why piss sounds more jarring vs pee?

I hate it too.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to utilize the facilities. I really have to urinate like a racehorse!

Yeah, it sounds like a word you'd only hear in an Andrew Dice Clay bit - eh-oh, so I'm pissin' out ma cack...

This is what I don't understand, but I do thank you for chiming in as a minority-opinion holder in this thread.

Why do you think not swearing brings you closer to perfection, though? What's dumb about swearing? Are there not circumstances where the sh-word or f-word are the most appropriate words to use and any other word isn't the perfect fit? Did your parents not swear and you were raised thinking it was super taboo or bad?

Pretty sure you "piss" while drinking beers or other liquors. At all other times it's "going to the bathroom". It has to be angry to convey the feeling that it has snuck up on you, is taking you away from the party you are enjoying and you are willing to go anywhere.

lol, don't know what parties you go to, but my friends will politely excuse themselves to use the facilities. We don't "piss".
