Sounds like your opinion, or even preference. Heard any legit inside information on this?

Reading some of these proposals for PLD is hilarious. Do people think he is Eric Lindros or Nathan MacKinnon?

No one has come close to offering a Lindros level package.

In my opinion, that would be bad for the Avs. I think the Avs are better off with Kadri, who has a bite to his game and also retaining Newhook, who is going to be a stellar player when the time comes.

Kadri still has a 10 team no trade list, no?

Shift lindy back to RW:
Tkachuk-Dubois-Lindholm
Gaudreau-Monahan-Mangiapane
Dube-Backlund-Leivo
I think that top 9 is competing for the cup.
But I can also see the allure in leaving Lindy at center and going out looking for a good RW to set us over the top... I still like the idea of adding Laine.

We’re not trading Valimaki.
I just don’t see it.
Hanifin yes, Valimaki or Andersson, no way.

This is the way I see it. Being and NHLer is your job. you get paid to do you best. You aren't happy? you want a new work place? you don't give up and let everyone you work with down after handing in your two week notice.
The Flames have no shortage of skill, what they are short on in players who show up when all the chips are down and every inch matters.
PLD is mailing it in. Send him to the Oilers with that Attitude.
|
bolded question; I don't know. Do you? Did you happen to watch a lot of Buffalo Sabres hockey 2015-2018?...I'm skeptical.
We're talking about a 22 year old kid here, keep that in mind. Yes, there seems to be a maturation process unfolding before our eyes here, but lets not cast the die just yet. Seems like you are convinced there is an attitude problem that is irredeemable. Pretty short sighted point of view in my mind.
There's obviously some thing going on here that hasn't been aired publicly and we shouldn't expect it to be. We know very little other than he apparently wants a bigger stage, whatever that means.
How many players have had these sort of 'character flaws' and have blossomed elsewhere? Off the top of my head and already mentioned by some, Roy, Gilmour, O'Rielly, Carter, Seguin, Marc Savard FFS.....Wouldn't be surprising, at least to me, that once he moves on this is likely left behind.
It is worth the Flames investigating, without a doubt. Pretty sure if the Flames pursue the player, they will have done their homework and spoken to those around him about what is going on. Making judgements from your couch, like the ones your making, seem pretty silly to be honest.
As for sending him to the Oilers, what a terrible take.

Well Pierre if you didn’t like Columbus... how about Winnipeg?
Jokes aside Calgary is kind of a marginal step up from that perspective too haha

Having lived in Winnipeg for three years of university, I can tell you from first hand experience that Winnipeg has its charm but Calgary is at least a tier, or two, above.

Winnipeg is a small town city. The winters suck for weather and there are no mountains outside of driving down to the states. Lots of outdoor recreation for snowmobiles and ice fishing which doesn't appeal to people who aren't used to it.
Summers are great with lots of lakes and cabin country close by but that means jack squat to any athlete. Its also crappy to travel anywhere major from here usually needing to fly to Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver.

he looked pretty good on his two goals against the Flames.
Maybe the guy actually is just injured and it has nothing to do with playing video games.
I'd rather a player want to just stay in his hotel playing video games, than being out drinking and snorting nose candy.

Just for fun because I have to read it again every time it comes up:
Quote:
The Flyers offer was reported to include Mike Ricci, Rod Brind'Amour, Mark Recchi, Steve Duchesne, Ron Hextall, Dominic Roussel, multiple first-round draft picks, and $15 million, while the Rangers had reportedly agreed to trade Sergei Nemchinov, Tony Amonte, Alexei Kovalev, James Patrick, and either John Vanbiesbrouck or Mike Richter, as well as multiple first-round draft picks and $20 million.
The finalized trade had the Nordiques acquire Hextall, Duchesne, Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Peter Forsberg, a first-round pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, $15 million, and future considerations.

Brady Tkachuk is an RFA next summer. If the Sens let him get to that point, it would cost $8.7/year and a first, second, third.
Thoughts?
