I don't even mind them having the designated Sports Select segment with the "Magnificent Seven" theme, and recapping how awful their picks turned out. That can be entertaining and funny. It's just when it becomes synonymous with NFL talk of any kind that it really starts to grate on me.

Sports betting is only going to get bigger as leagues embrace it even more and I don't really want that sort of conversation to become the emphasis of discussing upcoming games. I have enough buddies who can flood a group chat with screen caps of their five incomprehensible six-part parlay bets and exhaustively explaining their strategy, thinking they're Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems.

Well his season stat line is slighlty better than McDavid's since he is still even on the year +/- wise.

He has to be screwing with the morning crew to see if they even watched the game as they talked about him on the panel last night

I would rate on-air personalities under two requirements : sports knowledge and entertainment value. An essential overriding factor is also a natural oratory talent. No one on the Fan has that last item in any abundance at the moment. In terms of sports knowledge Pinder and Steinberg are keepers. They would do well to bring in someone who is more of a baseball specialist, as that is Rogers bread and butter.

Haven't been overly entertained in a while.

edit : I feel a bit bad for being too harsh. 960 is still on the rotation in the afternoons if I'm driving. Sometimes I do feel as if the station has lost the script though.

Time to rebrand - Sportsnet 960, You Know, The Fan. Are these guys actual professionals? Do they not realize how many times they say You Know on air?

Not 960 related but Sixeiro just announced he is leaving the Tim and Sid show.

Certainly a surprise.

Edit: He just also announced he is joining Breakfast Television as a co-host (in Toronto) in March.

He elaborated on it a bit. Basically he said that through a lot of self-reflection while having to work from home the last 10 months or so, that when he was presented with a unique opportunity, he wanted to jump on it. Didn't want to regret not taking a chance.

Also stated he would be doing some sports on the side down the line.
