That shot off Demko's head (from Lucic) was some pretty impressive puck movement to me. VAN was pressuring the points but Hanifin immediately fired a hard pass to Tanev (also pressured).

I think a lot of guys send it down the wall but Tanev, head up, went diagonal to Lucic. The passing and the shot were all done so quickly. Just tremendous speed with the puck movement.

The Flames have been as good or better than the Leafs, Canucks, Oilers over the past three seasons but you would never know if you just went off Canadian media coverage. They are kind of the forgotten team as they don't have the shiny new toys on their roster but have the most well rounded roster which isn't sexy to people that like shiny toys.
I continue to hold the view that TSN is primarily responsible for this, because one of their flagship products is the World Juniors. Billing young players as the be-all-and-end-all is just good for business.

But's also just shiny new toy syndrome. Before Monahan was "not a true #1 center" and "ineffective in the playoffs" and etc. etc. he was a sixth overall pick who scored 20 as an 18 year old. It's all untapped potential, until it isn't.

Ya ya, Lindholm is a big deal. Are you going to be able to handle it if he grows a wicked stache some day?

Man, I’m loving the move to put Lindholm at centre with Tkachuk. We have two legitimate lines capable of scoring on a regular basis now. Now move Mangiapane up to Johnny and Monny’s line and we’re all set.

Leivo is looking progressively better in that spot with each game.

Might not be necessary. Keep the third line at a second line skill level.

I don't know what it is, but Tkachuk looks stronger/meaner. Did he gain some muscle in the off-season? I just noticed he chopped off his locks too, looks a lot more like his old man.

PVR re watch: Monahan was excellent. Gaudreau was eye popping dazzling but Monahan was so good.

The entire team played great - one of those yes winning is great but it's how you play games Darryl used to talk about.

Every facet was really good. Passing game, breakouts, special teams, defense and goal tending. Tremendous performance. Keep this going!

Darn. At least the timing (to coincide with this five day break) is fortunate.

A lot of them look stronger. Monahan, Gaudreau and Dube all look to have added muscle. Dube was expected for me just because of age, and Monahan started last year. But I think Johnny has done it too.

Don't like to speculate, but "out for a bit" usually isn't good. If it's minor, it's 'day to day'. Out for a bit usually means it's measured in weeks. Hopefully not.

So I'm assuming they draw in Ritchie. Even though I'd like to see Zav in the lineup.
