It's not going to be fan. I'm quite sure it will be an Oilers player that says, "screw this, I'm outta here". It's a Dogs breakfast up north. They're a pathetic team that will continue to be pathetic. Horrible D and a lackluster of offense. They're in for a long year.

You'd think maybe Tippett should've stuck with the Seattle gig. Lots of runway, plus it's not Edmonton.

Dave Tippett is no good.

I wonder if Tippett regrets his decision to leave the Seattle job to come to Edmonton.

I bet he does.

It's funny Koskinen has been the least of the Oilers problems, yet he's getting the blame for these losses? If anything his salary at 4.5 isn't that bad considering the market for goalies right now. That signing is better than anything Holland has done since he took over.

Holland brought back Mike freakin Smith! That says it all right there.

I love the "Fire Tippett" crowd.

McDavid is running the show there and he does what he wants. Hard to get other players buying in when your captain and best player has made it all about himself.

Plus, they only have 3 forwards that would be regular top 6 players on any other team, another 3 would would be bottom 6 on any other teams, and then literally the rest are either not ready for the NHL or are just replacement level tweeners. And that is just their forwards, which are actually the strongest part of their team...lol.

Also, is it even safe to post on HFboards? I had a security warning on my browser when I went to the site. I haven't logged into that place since they re-styled it to look like a NY Post knock off.

I don't think any goalie in their right mind with any other choice would want the job. It would be a career killer.

The Oilers are 1-3 and are still below the LA Kings in the standings. The LA Kings have 0 wins.

Edmonton is no good.

Did the Oilers really not see what a fraud Holland was and how Detroit burned to the ground once Datsyuk/Zetterberg were finished? I mean this is the guy who was bringing in Alfredsson and Modano to Detroit when they were in their 40's.

Don’t forget when the Oilers hired him, Detroit was the only team with a higher cap hit and worse record than good old Ed’Mutton.

I would laugh at this but I think there’s a solid chance he’ll still be a better option than Mike Smith

While he may not be the biggest issue, Koskinen is part of the problem. He's extremely pedestrian and gets beat a lot on shots that other goaltenders would stop. He's a big goaltender that managest to make himself small in the net.

I honestly think this current iteration of the Oilers is the most embarrassing being a fan has been in 20-some years. We can't blame our lousy first round picks anymore, we can't blame the old boys club (Lowe, MacT, etc.), we can't blame the Canadian dollar/economy/lack of financial parity, we can't blame any of it. We cleaned house in every way imaginable, and we are a pathetic pathetic hockey team that is a chore to watch more often than it isn't.
