I didn’t know that model was available until you told me! I did look into it a bit, and in short looks like that is the older model. Nothing wrong with that but appears that the model I have does do a better job based on reviews of both models.
Again it isn’t like the crispy crust is a bad product, just that it appears the new model does a much better job.
Now is that worth 4x price? Not sure, but I cam say the pizzaiolo really impressed with how good a job it did.

I was curious and just typed in “breville pizza maker” and that small one came up first. It doesn’t look like it reaches the same temperature.
Is yours easy to move around or does it live permanently in the kitchen?

Add me to the list of Bravo Pizza fans. Very tasty, thicker crust pizza with tons of toppings and a great salty/spicy mix (meat lovers).
I generally go with thinner crust pizzas, but sometimes (especially New Years Day) a real gut bomb is in order.

Had takeout from 4th Spot the other night. We ordered a thin crust Mahalo and a Deluxe. Both were good. Nothing crazy exciting, just some solid pizza pies.

I would never order their Pandemic Pizza.
Then I had a slice at my parents house (pre-lockdowns) and I was hooked. I ordered it several times.
That mishmash of flavors actually works really well.

Ordered from Una on Friday because they were having an anniversary deal.
It was a salty greasy mess.
Must have been an off night, since we normally enjoy their za.

Ordered from Carmine's in the SW last night. Overall pretty good experience. For some reason I thought it would be more thin-crust Naples style but it was more regular crust style. Still very enjoyable.

Where did "za" come from, anyways? Is it literally just using the last two letters as short form, or is there a meaning? I just cringe when I hear it used for some reason, haha.

The first two hits were
- an abbreviation of the Dutch Zuid-Afrika
- The slang term “ Za” and “Zaza” (something spelled Za Za) is an noun, which is used in rap music and culture to reference really good weed.
and then finally the pizza origin

In the 1980s, in the USA, the people who were in the "preppie" subculture, who called themselves, "preppies", would call a pizza- a za, or some za.

I know it from TMNT as a kid. But I'm sure the true origin is elsewhere.
The only preppie I knew was zach morris and I don't remember him calling it za.

So now, thanks to those TV shows, pizzerias and morons who shouldn’t be playing Scrabble in the first place, ’za is now a word that is very well known. Given that, I ask Popik when we might be rid of such a word — like, if after a few generations, a slang word like this may cycle out of usage. Unfortunately, Popik tells me that ’za will likely never go away — it may fade in popularity and it definitely isn’t cool anymore, but he says that, at this point, it will never be gone entirely.
Just like COVID, we acted too late to do anything about this. ’Za was allowed to spread, and now we’re stuck with it for the foreseeable future. So, rather than wish it away, we just may have to accept that this is a part of our lives now, and live with the risks and consequences therein.

A new Bowtie Pizza opened up in Killarney. Had it for the first time - certainly really good but I still prefer Nikos.

Nope, it's still there. I drove by because I thought the same thing, but POW is in a brand new building across the street from the strip mall Gondola is in.

I don't want to start a debate about whether or not a calzone is pizza but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations in the city? Not something you see very often and I haven't found anything worth mentioning. Thanks!

Wherever it came from it should go back.

I had Noble Pie for the third time on the weekend and I'm convinced it's the best pizza in the city. So good.
