PP and SH performance is better measure by other stats IMO.
I’ve often thought PP% is also not a great team stat. I’d be interested in PP performance measured by correlation of goals and amount of time on the PP. Do it for one man and two man advantages. Negates the impact of short power plays. In other words, a good PP scores once every x.x minutes on the PP.

Just to make it totally meaningless?

Same thing as the Scheifele thing last season. People see “Tkachuk” and assume it was intentional. Maybe I’m a homer but I really think Tkachuk’s reputation as a dirty player is unwarranted. He’s a rat and he gets under guys skin but I don’t think he’s really a dirty player. Other than the Doughty elbow a few years ago all his controversies have been created in the minds of Edmonton media and opposing fans.

Rival fan bases are so funny.
All they're doing is helping the kid take up residency in their heads. He's becoming an elite hockey player, but he'll get more space because of his "image" which is largely undeserved.

How could you possibly know how much Dom watched Tanev last season?

And unless something major happens Bennett will be the one exposed. No guarantee he gets taken IMO

Can’t speak for Tanev specifically, but just by following Dom for years now it’s well known he watches as much hockey as possible.
Yes he has an analytical focus in his writing, but he knows his hockey. To say he bases his opinions purely from a spreadsheet and that he doesn’t actually watch the games is lazy and flat out not true.

How good has Nesterov looked!
He just needs to dial back the aggressiveness a bit and we have a good D man there

He’s still wrong, watching games or not. The Tanev signing wasn’t, isn’t, and won’t be terrible.

Simon only got 7:43 but he was very good passing/moving the puck. He's a slick player, finds the right guy to pass it and gets the team in rhythm for attacks or just transitioning.

I've been pleasantly surprised by him. Make perfect simple plays to keep the play alive in the offensive zone. He and Valimaki are creating good chemistry out there too.

Yup, I could live with a little more time for Simon. Smart player.

“Well known”. That doesn’t mean what you think it means.
Again, how could you possibly know this?
