There were a whole bunch of times in the Oiler game today where they noticed how long players were on the ice for a shift. I think players tend to do that when they don’t get much time overall (because they overplay McDavid and Draisaitl). The lower end guys feel like they need to stay out a little longer and make something happen.

Wasn’t watching too hard but I thought McDavid started second period on the PP and stayed out all 2 minutes plus 20 some seconds more. Got hit, then scored on. Sweet shift.

Andreas Athanasiou!
This might turn out to be the best E=ng topic of the season. Just as a reminder, Holland traded 2 2nd round draft picks (and Sam Gagner) for Athanasiou.
He got 1 goal and 1 assist in 13 games for the Oilers. Holland didn't qualify the RFA, and Athanasiou signed as a FA with the Kings.
His stat line for the Kings so far, 2 goals in 2 games!
