I haven't watched a lot of Markstrom in the past but it just seems in these first couple of games that he has the "Smith-esque" tendency to wander and try to do too much with the puck. I hope that's not the case as that really got on my nerves!

I noticed him a couple of times, but only a couple. On the end boards with Tkachuk.

There were three posts tonight. Ryan, Nesterov, and Monahan.

I thought the Flames blueliners were excellent tonight, and the penalty kill was tremendous. The Flames did a great job at keeping the Canucks mostly to the outside, and they were fast and tenacious on the back check.

Markstrom was great, Petterssen was invisible and Mangiapane made Quinn Hughes his bitch.

As someone else said, he’s getting used to his D men and how to pass/break out. I don’t expect it to be a problem.

Did I really see Johnny being quite a bit more "physical"? Went into the boards with guys a couple of times in the corners and behind the net, took a few hits...if he keeps this up...who knows?

That was a prototypical pre-2019 ASB game from Monahan.

Man I hope he's back.

Might have been the best player in the Winnipeg loss too.

If we can somehow get Dubois without giving up one of Monahan, Tkachuk, gaudreau or lindholm... seems unrealistic but #### it id throw literally anything else at them.

Yes he was working really hard tonight, engaged, crisp passes, liked the slap shot on the PP, looked really good.

Special teams in general was phenomenal. Loved the shot blocking by Tanev and the willingness to take the hit by pretty much everyone tonight.

The Fan said he had 8 blocks tonight. He has definitely exceeded my expectations so far, but I can also see why he is so injury prone. I hope he can stay healthy.

Nesterov has been good too. I love all 3 pairings. Tanev is so underrated and exactly what Hanifin needs to get some confidence. Rasmus has been very good with gio.

Mangiapane is a beast. Kid has some much heart. Never quits on any play. That 3rd line is very exciting. Can't wait for next game.

Dube fits perfectly with lindy and Tkachuk. So fast

Monahan was very good. Johnny was good on the pp and ok. Would like to see more from leivo but line has potential

4th line was good too. Simon deserves another game

Markstrom is unreal. I just feel like he will make all the saves he should. Hes very athletic for a goalie that big too
