After the rosters were set, Treliving said they haven't made a decision on the PTOs yet.
Since they haven't been cut, they're probably practicing with the AHL guys who are still in town. I wouldn't be surprised if once the AHL season gets going, they send Robinson and Mackey down to get playing time and then sign Stone and Ritchie for the taxi squad.

I would do Tkachuk for Dubois in a heart beat
Gaudreau Monahan Dube
Bennett. Dubois. Lindholm
Simon Backlund Mangiapane
Much more balanced line up and Columbus might even throw in a draft pick to balance the trade

Just to add to this - Treliving did tell Steinberg that the PTOs were essentially over and that the players were "basically free agents"

I don't think I would do that but can respect that some fans probably would.

I disagree with our colleague above; this is a bad take. Tkachuk has shown way more at the NHL level during their respective careers, and they were drafted one after the other. Plus chucky has shown nothing but loyalty and dedication to this organization (Dubois has obviously not done this) and is one of the premiere pests in the league. These factors easily outweigh the positional benefit of Dubois. + I believe chucky might still have another gear offensively.

Tkachuk is the heartbeat of the team and the future captain. I don’t see it as an option for the Flames unless he low key told the team he would like to leave which I highly doubt would be the case.
Columbus would need a significant add in my opinion very significant

Since everyone is throwing terrible trade scenarios out, I’ll give one a shot:
Backlund and Hanifin for PLD:
Tkachuk-PLD-Lindholm (shutdown line)
Gaudreau-Monahan-Leivo
Mangiapane-Bennett-Dube
Lucic-Ryan-Simon/Nordstrom
Gio-Andersson
Valimaki-Tanev
Mackey-Nesterov

Not surprised to hear the Flames are serious about acquiring Dubois. We heard on the FAN 960 that the Flames had a huge deal on the table that involved the likes of Monahan for Josh Anderson. So with Columbus already showing interest in #23, I think the potential is there for a swap now that the Dubois rift has reached its climax.
3 years of Monahan for a win now team like Columbus has to be pretty darn attractive. I mean, it’s not a futures only trade, it’s not a quantity for quality exchange. It’s a legitimate lateral trade that could potentially benefit both sides.
Plus, with the way Josh Anderson preformed last night, it’s not crazy to think that maybe Dubois could also pop offensively here. Maybe Tortorella’s style is just that restrictive. I’m all in on a Monahan+ for Dubois swap.

The key is what one thinks about Tkachuk’s progression. If he does have another offensive gear (or even a defensive gear), OK. Or - is what you see nw what you are going to get, which is a very good forward who sometimes can disappear a bit. I think most agree PLD is still on an upward trajectory.

Dubois is being overrated.
Tkachuk is a much better 200ft player at this point in their careers, wouldn't make that trade even if Columbus added.
Monahan with a plus (1st or comparable prospect) is the trade that would make the most sense.

Not odd at all. There are 7 teams in the division so 1 team will not be playing games while the other 6 are facing each other which could be 2-3 games in 3-5 nights.

I don’t see how the CBJ can fit Backlund and Hanifin under the salary cap. Do you know how they could do it?

When did Monahan’s 10 team list kick in?
Reason I ask is I wonder if he knew that he was potentially risky involved in an Anderson deal and once his NTC kicked in post draft he added Columbus to that list?
Anyone suggestions Backlund needs to know he has a full NTC this season and I don’t see him waiving it at all nor do I see Columbus trading for a guy a decade older.

I am a big PLD fan but come on, the guy hasn't ever cracked 65 points. Are we this excited for a guy that had 1 good playoff performance?
Don't get me wrong, I would love to have him but trading one of Johnny, Monny, or Lindholm isn't how you do it.

Hes 22 years old and still more of a complete player than Monahan could ever hope to be.
Hes coming into his own and his potential has no ceiling.
I for one do NOT want to watch invisible Monahan in another first round exit.
This reminds me of the time when people on this board wouldn't trade Monahan for MacKinnon. Then MacKinnon came into his own and simply exploded. Now who wouldnt do that trade?
I believe Dubois is about to come into his own. Now is the time to make the move. This opportunity is not going to happen again.
