Yandle has played something like 856 games in a row and could challenge the record next season. He had 45 points in 69 games last season and 62 points the season before.
It would really suck if he lost out on a chance to break the record because of this. Maybe he's not as good as he used to be but the Panthers are under the cap and you can't tell me he's not better than Noah Juulsen or Gustav Forsling.

Yeah that is really jerking a guy around. You signed him to that contract and gave him a NMC way to treat a veteran guy like crap.

Isn't Yandle terrible defensively?
I haven't watched him a lot, but I remember back in his days with the Coyotes, that is what a lot of people were saying about him.

Yeah, Yandle isn't great defensively. He gets very sheltered defensive assignments. Plus, from listening to spitting chicklets, he sounds like he's a good time Charley. Probably enjoying much of what Florida has to offer.
He's very, very good on the PP though.

I would do that 10/10 times.
I don't think the flames will actually give up what it will take to get it done.

Flames in pursuit of Dubois? Multiple sources say so!

Multiple sources confirmed both the Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings are also seriously interested in Dubois, though the timing of a potential trade is up in the air.

The Fourth Periods says the Flames are trying to acquire Dubois.
The articles says:
-The Flames are "seriously interested" in Dubois.
-There is familiarity in trade discussions between the Flames and Blue Jackets, as the two clubs discussed a deal involving sniper Josh Anderson in the off-season before Columbus traded him to Montreal for centre Max Domi.
-It also offers an opinion on the Flames' assets, which isn't that valuable because of the source, but it is an outside opinion for what that's worth:
"Could the Flames be prepared to part with Johnny Gaudreau or Sean Monahan in a deal for Dubois? Gaudreau has one-year left on his contract after this season, while Monahan has two years remaining once the 2020-21 season concludes. Gaudreau does not own any no-trade protection this season, while Monahan has a 10-team no-trade list.
Off-season trade speculation included the possibility of moving Gaudreau. Given the term on his contract, I’m not sure he’d be a key piece in a deal for Columbus.
Flames centre Elias Lindholm, drafted fifth-overall in 2013, enters this season coming off back-to-back 25+ goal seasons and the two most productive offensive seasons of his young career; he is also locked up for three seasons after this year and could be an option in a package for Dubois."

I wonder if Ryan on the taxi squad is to squeeze some cap out to get a Bennett for Dubois trade done. Assume a first rounder would be involved.
Hanifin could be involved too and Savard involved too.
Bennett and hanifin for Dubois and Savard. Maybe we get a pick back in this deal

I am sorry but I seriously doubt Bennett would be enough for CBJ.

Seriously hope Monahan doesnt have Columbus listed as one of his 10 teams. That would be devastating in our quest to acquire Dubois.

To CBJ: Gaudreau, 2021 1st round pick
To CGY: Dubois
Columbus gets back a 1st, and the best player possible.
Calgary gets 5 years younger, and stronger at centre.
Columbus can later flip to Gaudreau if things don't work out.
I would pay that price.
Tkachuk - Lindholm - Dube
Bennett - Dubois - Mangiapane
Backlund - Monahan - Leivo
Lucic - Ryan - Simon
Nordstrom
Flames would also then have $2.7M in cap-space to accrue cap-space all season to acquire another forward towards the deadline (hello Taylor Hall).
Lindholm, Dubois, Monahan down the middle?
Expose Backlund and Tanev in expansion, spend money in the summer on improving wing depth if needed.

I personally don't mind that deal but I think that is too many centers. A second trade involving Monahan for a legitimate top 6 winger would be great (although unlikely).
That's why I think it needs to be Monahan.
Monahan + Hanifin for Dubois + Savard

I don't like that trade. I really don't like Savard, and I think Hanifin is taking a step this year. I also imagine CBJ is on Monahan's NTC list.
Paying the steep price on Dubois would be about maintaining a young group of high end players, and Valimaki + Hanifin as our LHD with Andersson as our RHD gives us a young core on defence which is important to staying competitive for the long haul.
Lindholm/Dubois/Monahan looks like championship quality depth to me, that would be my biggest goal in going after Dubois.
