Well I sure like this play by play guy. I can actually have an Oil game on in the background without hearing nails on a chalkboard

Bad character is still character!
The fun part about that goal is we can bring back the good ol' "this guy scored" meme.
Edit - As far as the PBP guy goes, I'm getting Mark Lee vibes. He gets all excited and revved up, so I run from the kitchen to the TV cause something's happening and..... the puck's in the neutral with a guy just skating it up for a dump in. =\

Avs look bizarre with their new helmets and gloves.

No kidding. The helmets are a different shade of blue than the rest of the uniform!

My favourite thing on Oilers games is going to HF Boards soon after the first goal against. They never fail to entertain, already bitching about the reffing.

The Avs were getting their teeth kicked in for 5 straight minutes by the Blues until that bad penalty by Blais.
EDIT: Hahaha, McDavid does nothing at all in the first period? Let's show him taking faceoffs.

Have they discussed his controller being disconnected on the Horvat goal backcheck?

Pretty boring first period. But this announcer is pretty awful. Just straight monotone.

Burke revealing Calgary had Puljujarvi and Juolevi "right where they took them"... which suggests that the Flames would have taken Juolevi over Tkachuk? That can't possibly be right, can it?

He's awesome and he's actually from Brooks. Grew up there and his dad used to teach at my high school. Never met the dude but wish I did. He is on track to have a great hockey broadcasting career.

Sounds like it. Or perhaps he means that's where they expected them to go and they always had tkachuk pegged.

The Avs are going to be very good this season. I know, captain obvious, but they are a deep team with lots of skill and speed. Jealous.

he's been awful and lost for a couple of years now, he's really dropped since leaving New Jersey.
He's a need a desperate change in scenery trade.

No, I think that just means they had them graded top 10 players or in that tier.

Could be the had Juolevi higher than Dubois?
Matthews, Laine, Tkachuk, Puljujarvi, Juolevi
?
I would hope so at least or I hope Burke is talking out of his ass

Yeah maybe. Or maybe they had a d-man ranking and a forward ranking and they were always taking a forward. But then again Burke has always been a BPA guy, based on his interviews.
