So Anderson has exceeded last year’s goals already?

Reilly with the lazy defensive play.

If he puts it all together he will be one of the top 2 or 3 power forwards in the game.

A lot around this place were hesitant to bring him here iirc and i couldnt understand why that was. He has had that kind of ceiling since day 1.

Janko opens the season scoring. Fights harder for a puck than I have EVER seen him do, and takes a bloody clapper one timer in front of the net. What.
Where was that guy last season

Maybe we should see if Patrick actually survives the season. Sometimes inspirational comebacks don't last (see Stephen Johns).

Can he put it all together consistently? The jury is still out, and if he can't, that's a lot of money and term.

Janko got complacent here.

I think he will have a decent season and good for him. Don’t think it ever would have happened here.

Who said the Flyers would have traded him cheap?

That was not the contract at the time he was being debated though, so its irrelevant to that part of things.

I agree though, the risk with that much term didnt seem necessary...and im not convinced BT would have gone that route either. I think the $$ seems reasonable though in this day and age.

Total track meet between Habs and Leafs. I know it's the first game, but some pretty poor defensive play and zone management by these two teams.

The Flames could really own this division if they are the only team to play defence

So when Edm and Tor play....games are going to all be like 6-5 or 7-6 arent they?

Just a tire fire in their own end at times.

One goal in 26 games is certainly a red flag. How much do you give up was always the question IMO.
