Myers will disappoint. Outside of his first stint at every stop he is a let down. I thought when he went to Winnipeg that D would be dominate and it looked good at first but Myers really sagged after that. I have no doubt he will do the same in Vancouver. So much promise but will not come close to showing it.
I loved Hamonic but he is a shell of his former self as a Flame and a long distance off of what he was with the Isle. He is serviceable and being paid that way but he is not the partner for Hughes.
I am not sold on Schmidt, I like him but I think playing behind that aggressive all out style of Vegas makes D men look a lot better than they are. Their back pressure from forwards is second to none in the league and I would wager the canucks are probably one of the worst teams for forward defense.
Canucks will put up points and they will look good doing it but they will have to out score teams to win as I don't think that D and goaltending are nearly as good as last year.

I doubt that anyone is overlooking these details. It's just that they are not especially important on their own. The Flames's success in 2019 was not because of Hamonic.

Also, sometimes guys regress. It happens. 2018/19 Hamonic =/= 2021 Hamonic
I don't think anyone disputes that he was once a solid top 4 guy.

I actually feel sorry for Hamonic being put on 1st pairing. I liked Hamonics warrior style play. Unfortunately we paid far to much for him and he is now a bottom pairing dman. Nucks should put him on bottom pairing where he belongs. I could see canuck fans liking him if he is the 6th dman. I feel they will hate him on 1st pairing.

How do you feel about the Flames going to war with the not 2018/19 Gio Gaudreau Monahan Tkachuk Lindholm...
They all fell off the same cliff as Hamonic.
Hamonic is done but they just had a aberrant bad year??
