I've never had issues with Nvidia drivers until recently. Thankfully the one that came out today is supposed to fix the problem I've been having.

[GeForce GTX 1080 Ti]: The system may freeze with the screen displaying as solid color. [3203038]

Between this bug and the increase in price I'm really kicking myself for not grabbing a 3080 when I had the chance.

Alrighty I got my EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 yesterday (not my preferred model, but it's a nightmare getting anything so whatever), runs pretty much to spec, no real issues. Overclocks like a champ and is actually a bit quieter than my 2080 FE. Not a ton bigger either; like 3/4 inch longer and a 1/2 inch thicker.

CanadaComputers put my 5900x on the slowest Purolator option so I won't get that till mid/late next week. Time will tell if the CPU or mobo work properly...

That's really weird because I never ran into that on my Strix OC GTX 1080 Ti, and I keep the drivers up to date pretty religiously.

Out of curiosity - did you need to upgrade your power supply?

No I still have a Corsair AX 860; I, until the 2080 series/NVIDIA phase out, have been SLIing for years so I by habit only buy 800w-1000w PSUs.

It only happened when using monitors with Display Port and HDMI at the same time.

That’ll do it. Since getting my Dell S3220DGF, my desk is too small for my second monitor. Also trying to use G-Sync / Freesync with a second monitor caused flickering.

The flickering is another issue that's supposed to be fixed as well.

Weird. Mine hasn't flickered at all.

GSync/freesync being turned on can cause flickering on "non-approved" GSync Compatible Freesync monitors.

The degree of flickering can vary though.

So the latest driver fixed the G-Sync flicker, but what I still had an issue with was Windows UWPs (OneNote, Xbox, Store, etc.) graphical corruption. What fixed that was booting into Safe Mode, removing the device from Device Manager (and checking the box to delete the driver software itself), then booting back into Windows and installing the latest driver.

My display setup is happy now.

I'll never not recommend using DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details...-download.html) when you install a new driver update.

It makes the process longer but you'll have much better results overall.

for everyone else, expect stock in march, although the "official" release is in late February.

Move on from that 1060! although the power draw is kinda high
