We now have the situation in greaserville where the de facto third goalie just got claimed on waivers by Carolina.
Oilers are therefore even more no good which is excellent!

There’s plenty to rag on Smith for. The size of a Joey Moss tribute isn’t one of them. I think it’s a cool gesture regardless of the size.

Surprised it's not a patch or helmet sticker the whole team wears. I suppose that still could happen before the season opener.
It's been done for deceased team owners around the league before.

Yeah, no... that was the Canucks.
Just like how when we look back at '04, the Flames were probably by all accounts considered Canada's best club, Edmonton in '06 and Ottawa in '07. No one scours back through their places in the standings those years.

Best regular season by a negligible point percentage. Tied for 2nd worst in the post season going by how far they made it.
Let's not forget how they lost that playoff series. It wasn't like they went out battered and bruised like the Jets or in knife edge series like the Leafs, they were out classed in 4 games by the Blackhawks.
