there is literally not even one half way good defensive defenseman on that list. Larsson used to be that guy, but he's looks lost half the time now. Russell is awful in his own end, weak on the boards and have to dive block to fix his mistakes.
Wow, the Oilers might think they're going to score a ton of goals. Though they were terrible 5v5 last year. But that team and that blueline is going to leak goals like a hemophiliac in a saw movie.

Remenda was just as insufferable when he was with the Sharks. Quinn was pretty low key as a Flames commentator. Both below average overall.
So, they both were very agreeable to the style and image the Oilers (Lowe) wanted them to come in and pump out (biased) enthusiasm every night on the TV airwaves.
Then the Oilers thought they cornered the national media market by getting Sent to build a set in the new arena and trot out Shannon for intermissions to fawn over McDavid through the regular season and playoffs. Didn't work.
Like most things, Lowe things he is smarter than most and with all these games with Canadian teams that will get the Oilers a lot of air time on the (in his mind coveted )eastern time zone, even he knew that the over the top stage act he made Quinn and Remenda do was going to be frowned upon for the Oilers image.

I read that Mike Smith had a Joey Moss tribute mask and thought, hey that’s actually pretty cool.
Then I saw that it’s a Joey Moss tribute ON his mask, and it’s a small logo on the bottom of the backplate, so you’ll barely even see it. No good.
He probably has his wiener kids on the front...
