He didn’t go into the bubble because he knew he wouldn’t play but he stayed in Vancouver I believe.

I think this is a bad decision, especially since Juulsen was claimed.

Yeah, not going to lie

At least 130 of those players don't excite me.

I'd, be very tempted to take Perry mainly for the same reason other posters have said.

If a USA team claimed one of our guys, would they have to quarantine two weeks before he could even practice with the new team?

Vise versa?

Yes. Whether it's a trade, waiver claim or even a FA signing who is coming from another country, they'd have to quarantine

League minimum makes it almost a no brainer to me.

The upside outweighs the risk, given that he would be playing within the division if we didn't take him.

A little surprised to see Senyshyn there as well. I haven't followed his progress, but I remember when he was a pretty hyped prospect.

The Bruins nailed it with DeBrusk, but the three players picked right after Senyshyn are all really solid. That was a really strong draft in the first 2 rounds.

Was the Senyshyn pick one of the ones we used to get Hamilton?

Yeah, but Senyshyn has fallen off the map. I posted i was intrigued by E.Svechnikov and he is just hovering below .5ppg in the AHL. Senyshyn is in the .300 ppg range. He is a rhs rw though.

Leafs play the Habs in two days; they should claim Perry just to spite them

Did they though? DeBrusk is a good player, but Barzal, Connor and Chabot are all better, and were all ahead of him on the proverbial (non-existent) list.

He had concussion issues and just had a kid. No blame or shame to him for opting out

Yeah, maybe nailed it isn't the right term. It was a good pick at #15, but the three drafted after him probably go higher if everyone could have a do-over. Such a strong draft though. It's not hard to see how guys the Barzal, Connor and Chabot got lost in the shuffle.

Considering Barzal, Connor and Chabot are all franchise level players, I don't think there is any probably about it.

With 135 players on the market, thats more than enough to make 6 teams better than the oilers

What do you have against Sautner anyway? He's such a fringe player.

I agree with everything that's been posted about Evgeny Svechnikov and yet I still feel claiming the 6-3, 208-pound RW is the perfect risk / reward scenario. He was drafted 19th overall in 2015 but his career has been plagued by injuries. He missed the entire 2018-19 season after suffering a torn ACL during a preseason game, he returned last season, appearing in 51 AHL games scoring only 11 goals & adding 14 assists. I realize it's a reach but maybe if an organization shows him that he really matters to them, it can be the beginning of a beautiful partnership, lol.

Issue is, I don't see a spot on the roster for an unproven player this season, playing important minutes in the minors with our other skilled prospects would be the best option but if claiming him means he needs to go on the taxi squad, hopefully the coaches would be willing to give him some after practice one-on-one training to focus on his foot speed. I know, I know but talent runs in the family, he's a big body, still young and has pretty good hands so i feel it's worth a shot.

Nick Merkley is healthy for the first time in a long time, and did well playing in Europe to start the season. A little surprised that NJ waived him considering how light they are at right wing.
