You can waive someone who you have picked up on waivers. They must clear waivers before being sent down. Within a certain time frame, if the original team is the only team that makes a claim on the player you waived, then they can be sent down without having to go through waivers.

That doesnt sound correct. Isnt it if the original team reclaims there old player within a time frame he is considered to have passed thru for that original team?

I think that’s what he meant...straight to AHL for original team

What does Buddy Robinson have to do to get a full time roster spot? The guy can skate, pass, hit, fight. A smart team will pick him up from waivers.

I like him too. I think he could be a 4th line player.

He looked a little over his head at times, but also showed some signs that he can play in the NHL. It could just be a matter of getting more used to the pace. Plus the team seemed to really like him going by how they reacted when he scored. It was a pretty nice goal too.

Who's he gonna play ahead of?

He's a tweener.

Simon and Nordstrom, likely Simon.

Not saying he will do it, but I don't see either of them as sure bets.

I could see a situation where those 3 get rotated in and out of the roster.

Robinson is a nice extra forward that can plug into a 4th line and provide a spark.

I think he could be a 4th line regular, but on our team it's tricky as Nordstrom is apparently a PK specialist and Ryan isn't someone to scratch because he's pretty good at everything. In the event of an injury or trade however I'd like to see Robinson get a decent look on an energy 4th line.

This is probably entirely because I'm lousy at assessing hockey players, but Buddy Robinson just seems to be good every time I've seen him. Hits, creates space, seems to have decent wheels, good shot...

That all sounds like an accurate assessment to me. But he’s missing the decision making/playmaking ability needed to play top 9 type minutes. Which you didn’t mention, so again you were accurate

The goal he scored showed great anticipation. It was a pass from Gaudreau, and Gaudreau can make players around him better, but players like him aren't easy to play with either.

He also completely undressed the defenseman (Jones I think).

I know small sample size is small and all.

I wouldn’t hate it in the slightest if Robinson played on the 4th line.

Lucic-Ryan-Robinson would be pretty fun.

I thought Robinson looked pretty good, like to see a big player engaged. Bummer to see him waived.

I think he's likely being waived so that he can be put on the taxi squad as we had expected.

Same with Domingue, Froese, and Petrovic even.

Kirkland is probably the only one being waived that will be assigned to the AHL after clearing.

Okay then.

Not sure he'll stick on the club as there are a lot of bodies on defense in camp. But I could see him beating out someone to stay as the 7th d-man.

Couldn't hurt. We don't have a lot of great defense prospects in the system at the moment. Free asset. May as well claim him.

If he can stay healthy there is a lot of upside. Big if though.
