The Ecobee Lite does not have a built in occupancy sensor. The Ecobee 4 does and comes with an extra room sensor.

You could do a lite with 2 sensors bit that’s only like $20 cheaper. They have some refurb 4s with a sensor for $70 less than the 4. I have a refurb Ecobee 3 and it was brand new, just in a plain box.

The Alexa integration does more than than control the Ecobee. If you had other things integrated, it may be useful but your thermostat is more than likely in place that is not convenient and you already would have an Echo close by. If it was near your door, you could use it for your Im leaving or I’m home routines I suppose.

I’m fond of the Ecobee 3. Ecobee was selling refurbed 3 units while the 3 Lite and 4 were available. I didn’t want Alexa integration but I also didn’t want a Lite model either. It has been solid for us.
