I think it's a lot higher than 4 or 5, but fair enough.

That is scary. They will lose, but that's a huge chunk of the House that believes in a lot of lies and conspiracy theories. And they are lawmakers. Crazy.
Most of it's about saving their jobs in a future election. They don't want to upset the people that voted for them.

Listening to the debate, it sounds like the Republicans were basing their objection on one argument - that PA made changes to their voting laws outside of state legislators, which goes against the constitution. It wasn't about allegations of voter fraud (at least, not directly) or other conspiracy theories, but only about upholding the constitution.

Yup. Having their seat up for election every two years tends to make House members a lot more "pander-ey".

And that’s a bizarre strategy, because this isn’t playing out too well

When 74 million people vote for Trump, there are surely some Trumpets, but really simply a lot of lifelong Republicans in that number. A lot of whom are probably alarmed by today. Even Loeffler changed her mind somewhat

It bothers me that it is represented as nearly half of the country who are Trump supporters, because there are a lot of those people who realize Trump is not good, but have been indoctrinated to think that the Democrat boogey man is so awful that they can plug their nose and vote for Trump

That country is pretty ####ed up. All the hard work has paid off .

But if the outcome of the Capitol storming is that they see the uprising is ineffective (yeah, they got inside and successfully ... umm... put their feet up on Pelosi’s desk... also stole a podium?), then what do the Trump supporters actually have to look forward to?

We will see, I would be curious to see if we see action on amendment 25 soon. If they leave him in place, he could still try to impose martial law.

Man, it’s nuts down there

not that its much better but they are voting for 10 more days to investigate not to hand the election to Trump. The objection is that they wanted 10 days and a committee to investigate

Understood, and the counterpoint is that there have been 60/80/90/whatever amount of lawsuits raised and summarily dismissed. The 10 days will accomplish nothing but delaying for other purposes

The things they want to take time to investigate have no substantiable reason to be entertained

The #### people say on TV / social media is what is holding things up, but they aren’t willing to say those things to a judge

America needs to get its accountability back

When the dust settles it will be interesting to see how many cops there yesterday were complicit. I'm guessing a lot.

One of the things Trump said to get suspended from social media:
Quote:

"These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!"

Lol. They just had 2 whole months to investigate, and they came up with absolutely nothing while every single lawsuit they filed was tossed out of court, often in humiliating fashion. And they somehow think another 10 days will magically produce the smoking gun they're looking for? Bunch of pathetic clowns, the whole lot of them. F*** these idiots.

Hm. Doubtful. I am guessing few.

Reasonably dismissible as trying to establish a positive relationship with a potential troublemaker as a disarming technique.

Modern age policing, lowering the temperature, etc

I am much more pessimistic than you, I admit.

* Sorry. To be more precise, I think few will be held accountable for being complicit, not necessarily that few actually were complicit

Good to know that Biden is planning for a complete changeover of Secret Service

I don't know. How many cops were taking selfies with the BLM protesters?

By the way, it's over-over-over-over-over.
