Ossoff claims victory.

not sure he'll be above the .5% threshold for a recount when all is said and done, but let's hope so.

Ossoff being outside the automatic recount range is nice, but it's a bit of a red herring because even if there is a recount he's going to be 15,000+ votes ahead and even the most generous recount probably won't net Perdue more than a few hundred.

Republicans turn on Trump after Georgia loss
Fissures are forming as Republicans decide whether it's useful to cling to Trump — even as he tries to subvert an election — or to distance themselves.

Iran issues Interpol notice for 48 US officials including Trump

https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2...ncluding-trump

Quote:
Tehran, Iran – US President Donald Trump has had a “red notice” request for his arrest issued through Interpol by Iran.

Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili announced during a press conference on Tuesday that Iran has requested the international police organisation to arrest Trump and 47 other American officials identified as playing a role in the assassination of top general Qassem Soleimani last year.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is very seriously following up on pursuing and punishing those who ordered and executed this crime,” Esmaili told reporters.

Soleimani, Iran’s top general who led the foreign operations arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was assassinated on January 3, 2020, in a US drone strike in Baghdad ordered by Trump.

The assassination was deemed to be against international law by Agnes Callamard, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions.

Yeah, it's not like a recount means that the results flip the other way. It seems highly unlikely that they made ~15,000 errors or whatever to lead to that large of a swing, and it's basically a formality at that point.

A recount won't make a difference if the margin is even 1000, but he still shouldn't have declared victory before it was called.

Any and all violence that happens today falls right at the feet of Donald Trump. He could have stopped this. He should have to answer for it at some point.

Nah, it's the countless other senators, congressmen and governors who supported Trump or failed to denounce his claims. One man shouting crazy things isn't a problem, it's the group think of that party that supports him without question that are the real problem.

So how is the Ossoff/Perdue race not called yet? Ossoff is now up by over 17,000 votes. Seems a pretty safe bet he's won at this point, no?

Oh, and haha! Stupid McConnell!

Hawley? Ha, if they'd listened to him and gotten those $2G checks out the door they'd have won. This loss is on McConnell. This tweet is just the usual blame shifting after a loss.

It's probably the whole taking over the Senate thing.
