It's called a rivalry. Pretty tame, considering they delivered and put us in a bin.

Team would have been better off with more Zary IMO...they had too many guys trying to create all by themselves and not going to the dirty areas. This tourney is the best of the best and he was just drafted 24th a few months back.

Experience is a big thing in these kinds of tournaments so I do think he would be better next year if be could have returned.
I'm curious to see how he plays with his junior team in a bigger role.

not going to lose any sleep its just a dbag move to the country that made this tournament even happen during covid (or any year for that matter)
I guarantee Canada wouldn't have done anything with the USA hockey logo in their photo

Congrats to the USA fans on the board. USA has a solid team and deserves the gold.
I'd be happier if Canada won, but hard to be upset with a silver.

It's a dbag move to a rival, which makes it all the better. Has no statement or any consideration towards the host country, nor should it.
It's a rivalry. You can't guarantee that because you don't know. Toews participated in, or at least allowed, the "Pronger is Gay" BS.

Hold your heads high boys, you have a bright future. Hate seeing anybody that upset after a loss, unless they are named Bieksa or Kesler. Not going to pretend the WJC is the olympics or the Stanley cup, but I love the unpolished, raw talent and emotion in this tournament. US outplayed us. Happy this year there was no outright taunting or d-baggery after a win. That’s the way she goes sometimes boys...

I would feel worse about a Flames regular season loss its just a dick move IMO
The logo says Canada and they should respect the tournament host that bent over backwards to make this happen. Find me another championship photo with the losing teams logo in it
Hopefully and extra deep rubber glove at the airport

Biggest game and we fell short. I thought Pelletier did not have a good game. High motor but he wasn't efficient and burned a lot of unnecessary energy. He's been great on every other game but this one not so much.
Zary on the other hand I think had his best game of the tourney. He's not flashy but for the ice time he received it seemed he was always in on scoring opportunities. On the D zone he used his IQ and want frantic running around.
Things I didn't like:
Team fire drill in the defensive zone, reminded me of the Flames on D at times. I hate the collapsing strategy.
I thought Byram tried to do too much. Great player, great skater, but too much individual effort.
The Holloway hate is understandable since he's an Oiler now but I thought he was energetic and relentless on the puck.
USA played with a chip on their shoulders and even without that motivation, they are a talented team.

The US played a great game and deserved the win. They peaked in the gold medal game. Unfortunately, Canada had their best game in the semis against the Russians, and came up flat in this one.
Having said that, I think it was largely self-inflicted. They dominated everyone, including the Russians and Finns, by playing a high-tempo transition game, putting constant pressure on the other team. THen tonight, the played the zone to zone, chip it out and chip it in game. Every time they got the puck, they gave it right back to the Americans.
It was exactly like watching the Flames in 18-18. They were dominant all year playing a strong transition game, then got to the playoffs, and stopped skating, settling to just dump it off the boards and out.
How many times were the Canadian forwards standing still at center ice, unable to do anything other than just dump the puck in? I must have said to the wife 20 times: it is just like watching the Flames when they are standing still.
Again, kudos to the US, they played a great game.

Hockey is a game where a one game playoff does not decide the best team. I loved the way our players performed as a team throughout the tournament, and in my mind were every bit as good as the US team.
I look forward to seeing Pelletier, Zary and Wolf in Flames uniforms.

Zegres with a touch of arrogance before and after the game with his comments. He’ll fit in well with the Ducks.... just confidence perhaps? Maybe. Wouldn’t catch iggy talking like that though.

I agree - I thought it was a tough game for Pelletier, and I thought it was Zary's best.
