All I said is that is was close...we are talking a post vs. a bounce of the net cam
I'm inclined to think the Americans adjusted. Canada had tons of shots and possession in the 3rd but USA still had 3 or 4 better scoring chances even while playing defensive first

3 or 4 better scoring chances and 1 shot

got it

Look I already said the USA deserved the win its just not accurate to say it wasn't close

If it was Russia Vs. Finland nobody would be acting as if this game was heavily one sided...its all based on expectations

Yes it is a bit ridiculous, but can you really see him shine against NHL players? Would you like to bet in it by chance?

I actually didn't see what you guys saw in Zary. I thought he was one of the worst forwards on Team Canada. He, Holloway and Quinn stood out for the wrong reasons for me. If he had Holloway or Quinn's ice time, I think he would have been just as bad, if not worse.

I also don't think he created chances. He got chances presented to him and didn't capitalize. He didn't create anything from nothing, which good players do.

I think he needs to improve his skating significantly if he wants to play in the NHL. He's a really hard worker that just can't make or finish plays because he can't keep up with the pace.

The kid has multiple years to learn and grow into his body. At the same time there is a reason why he wasn't drafted first overall instead of Lafreniere.

A regular shift in games usually helps with timing and chemistry with teammates.

he had no problem keeping up...he barley played yet had more chances than most of the team in the gold medal game. Should have got more ice time but its team Canada. He will play in the NHL...there is more to hockey than end to end rushes he was the only guy that seemed willing to go to the net.

Nice to see the USA win as top headlines on both ESPN and AP sites.

Yep. He best learn quick also. He's 18 now so he has 8-10 years to get it together and make it work. Is anyone interested in doing a long term bet on his point totals?

make it work! He had 82 points in 45 games and was drafted 2nd overall...its working

nobody is making a 10 year bet

I will bet you he is a regular NHLer in the next 3 years

He started the tournament with regular shifts and lost his ice time to the likes of Mercer, Suzuki and Perfetti, for good reason.

I really liked the pick when we made it, and I'm still cheering for the guy. I just think he has a ways to go.

He won't have 400 points by the time he's 26. $150?

And most people said he was a long shot to even make the team...I think you are being overly critical. If he is back next year I bet he is one of their top players

Team would have been better off with more Zary IMO...they had too many guys trying to create all by themselves and not going to the dirty areas. This tourney is the best of the best and he was just drafted 24th a few months back.

Was that int the NHL? I think Calgary has a few guys that lit other leagues up also.

Trash can with Canada logo on it in the team USA picture...that is a D-Move. Especially since the country pulled out all the stops to host the tourney and make it actually happen

Its the best league he could have possibly played in considering he was 17..."make it work" suggests its not working

he has passed every test, I think you are falling into that trap of putting too much on a short tourney. (even though he was ppg in the tourney)
