Can't. That's all done at the state level. COVID relief, a coherent vax plan, and $15/h minimum wage should be top three day 1 priorities, IMO.

I mean the single best reason to root for the Dem sweep is to send the Turtle back to the minority so he can't pull any of his procedural bull####.

Urge an impeachment process against Trump.

But on the other side, Trump has already promised to see that Kemp pays for not finding a way to give him Georgia. If there's a bitter battle between a Trump acolyte and Kemp, and the results of election day is special elections for both the senate and governor, a good chunk of Kemp's supporters or Trump's supporters might just stay home for the special election.

by 2022 I'm guessing you have two GOP's running so Kemp running against the Dems and the Maga Party, of course that assumes Trump can organize anything from his dacha in Sochi

1. Change the Senate rules to end the non-speaking filibuster.
2. Rejoin the WHO, Paris Climate Accord, and Iran Nuclear Deal - have Congress raise the PCA and IND to the level of Treaties, preventing future Republican Presidents from being able to withdraw without Congress.
3. Pass a huge Covid relief bill, which includes the vaccine rollout & substantial spending on infrastructure.
4. $15/hr federal minimum wage

Well unless they change the Senate rules and eliminate the filibuster they still won’t be able to do much with 50 + Harris except judicial nominations.

I don't think the Federal government has any control over that.

Yeah. They should show up with a Covid relief bill and push the Republicans to offer amendments and actually get to work on it. Give them, like 72 hours in which to show they're a potentially serious partner in legislating and then when the GOP inevitably shows who they are, eliminate the filibuster.

Eliminating the filibuster is a double edge sword.
Would you want a President Trump, Speaker Ryan, and Majority Leader McConnell doing whatever they want?!?
Dems should be careful.

If anything they should do as much as they can to limit the power of the executive. Of course that's not going to happen because that would be basically the opposite of Obama's philosophy, but it's what they should do.

Leave the filibuster alone and try to expand your voting base and try and hold onto the House and Senate in 2 years.
Instead of thinking "what's the biggest thing we can do in 2 years before we lose control of something" how about thinking "what's the biggest thing we can do after we've build enough support that we'll have more power at all levels".
Because while this is nice, they lost seats in the house and they did poorly at state levels.

Electoral reform. Real simple message: "The American People gave us all three branches of government. If they don't like the job we do with it, we're going to make it easier than ever to fire us." Make a push for a 50-state-wide standard method of doing mail-in voting based on how they do it in Florida. If the Republicans say it's a ploy to try to make it easier to win elections, well, they won Florida.
Frankly it's what they should do regardless of what the final results tonight end up being.
