Nick Shore or Tim Schaller for PTO? Both have prior connection to the Flames. Schaller at a prior development camp when he was in college

Will be interested to see Mackey and the D mix

I am guessing opening night we see Gio, Andersson, Hanifin, Tanev, Valimaki and Mackey but not sure how the mix will shake out

Brett Ritchie is the best forward out there still available, which isn’t saying a lot - but it is confidence building if he is in fact the guy coming in.

Brett Ritchie is right handed. He definitely looks like a pretty useful player to me. I think he would be a great PTO target. I think he could challenge Simon and Nordstrom for the 12th/13th F spots.

I see no problem with signing Stone for the taxi squad. Depth will be very important this year.

I think it will be Nesterov ahead of Kylington, Petrovick and Mackey.

Salim Nadim Valji @salimvalji
Fun tidbit from Flames head coach Geoff Ward…the training camp groups will be divided into Team Iginla and Team McDonald…apparently the two Flames legends have $$ on the line when the two teams face each other in intrasquad games on Jan 7 & 11.

Sorry if this was answered and I missed it. Any word if the intra squad games will be streamed?

Does this mean that Iginla and McDonald had a hand in choosing the camp groups? I hope so!

Probably no chance of those being streamed anywhere eh?

He's playing well and getting lots of minutes in a decent league. They probably think it's better to just leave him there.

He comes to the AHL, and he's going to be fighting more and playing less. Maybe best to leave him in Europe so he can work on his actual skills and also not get concussed.

With all the rivalry games, it will be useful to have a tough big body like Ritchie in the lineup.

Don't they already have Robinson and Rinaldo for that purpose?

Right. Somehow forgot about him. I can see your point

Petrovick I expect will be down or taxi squad at best. Kylington has some tools but yet to put together a consistent solid stretch.

Thanks for the reminder. Now I’m excited to see what Nesterov brings, he reportedly improved a lot in the KHL
