Hopefully Knight craps the bed and Wolf can take over and bring the USA to the final and lose to Canada 1-0 on a goal from Zary or Pelletier.

I hope that every game ends in a 0-0 score today so that I don't have to hear that abominable goal horn. The sound of it is a crime against humanity.

I want the US to get smoked in the first, so Wolf gets in.

But then we will have to hear the goal-horn. I don't know if I can handle that at all.

The Czech team outplayed USA in 1st period.
 Very impressed by their game.

Yeah, they look great. Unfortunately, so does Knight.

Czech just cannot get anything going in the offensive zone. USA is just too fast and too tenacious on their back-check.

Yea... with the way Knight is playing, I think he's won over the braintrust of USA again to be their guy.
*Hoping for a horrible 3rd period*

Knight has been good, but Team USA also deserves a tonne of credit for absolutely shutting down Czech's offensive game since the first period. They did not have a single clean scoring chance in the second.

Flood gates have opened. U.S. up 5-0 now.
It's a pretty good team overall, but man, Zegras impresses the hell out of me. That's one to watch.

 Edit: aaaand now it's 6-0.

 Edit Edit: 7-0.

After a strong start by the Czechs this one has become a laugher.

U.S. looks really good...in every area of the game.
And agree about Zegras...the kid has "it" and in spades. Does everything well.

Do we know yet for sure if Zary is the healthy scratch today?

He isn't the healthy scratch. He is the 13th forward. Teams usually dress 13 forwards and 7 d-men for games.

Tonight would be a great time for Zary to get on the score sheet and try to solidify a role

I will be cheering against Holloway (and thus Canada) when he is on the ice.
Want him to end up being the 13th forward when the medal rounds begin.

I haven't watched the games in detail, but Zary was impressive enough to make the team

Was him being benched and now demoted to being the 13th forward strictly a result of his play, or are some players just killing it more than he is?

I would hate to think it is attitude related or something, but getting benched during a blowout win against a weak opponent does raise some alarms. If he was in a slump and needed to find a spark, that is the kind of game that you could afford to play him in.
