Byfield has been pretty invisible so far again this year, even Zary has shown better imo.

should be another shellacking for our boys today against Sweden, but in all honesty, I'm just happy we've made it to this tournament for once. Hope we can get on the scoreboard this time.

our goalie has been lights out, but now Gunler snipes one for Sweden finally. This could get ugly quickly now.

Lucas Raymond gave the half wall a tremendous headbutt.

One!
Shots are 22-1 after 1 periods. Shots were 47-5 after two periods. Sweden lead 3-0.

Mrazik ties it up at one as he beats the German goalie backhand along the ice through the 5-hole.
Edit: And as DoubleK pointed out it was waaayyyy offside.

Slovakia is my favourite underdog team, but that German team deserves to get a win.

That was at least a foot offside. Linesman way out of position there.

So, in two games Austria has been out-shot 133-16, and outscored 15-0.
Yikes.

Doesn't get much easier for them either. They kind of got screwed this year with how the divisions lined up.
Been impressed with Rossi though, very mature.

It's too bad. They had a great qualifying tournament to make it in to the main tournament. They beat Denmark, Norway, Slovenia and Latvia - all countries that have made it in in recent years. They only lost a really close game to Belarus. They were a huge underdog story at the time.
It just goes to show you the drop off in talent from one division to the next.

Knazko (or whatever), the captain of Slovakia, just got hit and it looked like it blew out his knee. Didn't think the hit was dirty though.

Yep. Wasn't one bit dirty at all. Just unfortunate that Knazcko went in knee first at that angle into the boards after being hit.
