Remember the 50/50? Edmontonians loooooove lottery tickets. Maybe the interest increased 100 fold due to all the draft lotteries. Betting lines are very aware.

Monahan scores 30(+) goals.
Gaudreau scores 60(+) points.
Bennett scores 28 points.
Rittich plays 23 games and posts better numbers than Markstrom.

Good point. Record in win % then.

Timbit won't bitch about Gaudreau until Game 5.

On to my bold predictions:
Bennett becomes our 2C, puts up 15G and 40pts
McDavid asks for a trade at the end of this season
Valimaki is our best Dman by end of the season
Leivo puts up 30pts

I keep thinking that some of these specific predictions (I.e. 30 goals, or 60 points) are not very "bold!" at all. But then I remember that there are only 56 games this season.

Rittich wouldn't shock me. He usually starts hot and would do well with a limited batch of games. I hope he does, could make him potential trade bait for a nice return if another goalie in the system/Domingue is pushing up the ranks.

Easy, and I would love to see it...
Gaudreau - Monahan - Leivo
Tkachuk - Bennett - Lindholm
Dube - Backlund - Mangiapane
Bennett playing between two high-IQ wingers might be just what the doctor ordered

Hmm, bold... let's see...
Connor McDavid requests a trade. To screw with the Oilers even more, he requests a trade to the Flames and only the Flames. Bettman and Daly elect not to intervene after years of annoyance over Lowe's bragging about McJesus.

I just had a long post written out mocking someone calling for that and then right before I hit send realized what I was about to do. Give you ammunition. I hate giving you ammunition.

Bold Prediction time!
Toronto Maple Leafs end up with the worst team defensive numbers through the regular season, but out score their problems and win the North. Swept in the first round of the play-offs
We see a change to how awards are voted on and handed out after they're incredibly slanted towards the East division despite better numbers or performances elsewhere.
For the first time in franchise history the Golden Knights miss the play-offs, missing out to the Wild, Blues, Avs and Arizona.
Columbus wins the new Central.
Buffalo has another hot start but finishes last in their division; Eichel stops skirting around the bush and publicly demands a trade.
Chara retires mid-season.
Nils Hoglander makes the Canucks out of camp and makes it four years in a row with a Canucks player nominated for the Calder (does not win).
Edit- While we're on this one: He does score a michigan near the start of the season. Tries again mid season and gets buried.
Nathan MacKinnon runs away with the Art Ross but still loses the Hart vote to a player from the East division.
Draisatl finishes below a ppg again and becomes a whipping boy in Edmonton after they pin their play-off miss on him.
Dillon Dube has a major break out year and is looked at as the second best player on the Flames roster behind Matthew Tkachuk by seasons end.
Annnnd the one to stir the pot:
Brayden Holtby finishes the year with better numbers than Jacob Markstrom.

I think MacKinnon not winning the Hart is sort of bold! Same with Eichel publicly demanding a trade.
I'll admit the Chara one is a bit low hanging fruit though.

Monahan and Gaudreau both finish above a point per game
Vancouver has an off season and misses the playoffs
Markstrom is better than Price, Demko struggles
Edmonton makes the playoffs, then gets unceremoniously dumped in the first round by Toronto, meaning...
The Leafs see the 2nd round for a change.
The Flames eliminate the Jets for the 2nd season in a row.
