I’d rather have Ottawa’s roster. I don’t think they’ll be the free space some predict.

I dont know....I look at that division and....

The Sens are horri-awful. The Canucks are awful because we took their only good players. The Jets are 'who knows what,' the Habs are riding Price's desiccated corpse like its a surfboard, the Leafs are...pretty good.

This is a Perfect Storm for the Oilers. To make the playoffs they only have to play a couple good teams and bunch of garbage that lacks the same talent.

I mean, you get 10 games against the Sens and Nucks, split some with the Habs and Jets and you should be Golden.

If they dont make the playoffs this year the League is going to have to invent some 'Feats of Strength' option or something or the Oilers will never make the playoffs again.

I agree, they have goaltending to make things interesting.

Every team plays Ottawa 9-10 times. Evens the playing field.

But, and this may be worth pointing out - you saw what the young rebuilding Hawks who sold off at the deadline did to them right?

Again: Edmonton, uh.. finds a way.

I mean, compared to the current Red Wings, yeah, but that episode is like 10 years old.

I was saying I’d rather have the Sens roster over the Oilers.

Oh. Well...yeah. The thing is and we've known this for years, the Oilers are terrible.

They've got 3 good players and seem to be constantly unaware that this is not the NBA?

Every one of these teams gets 9/10 games against one more awful team that the Oilers don't get to play even once: THE OILERS.

The League has been doing EVERYTHING within their power to ensure that the Oilers somehow succeed, and yet, here we are. I don't see why this year should be any different when it all works out.

The Tenderness. We have to be gracious.

I guess so, for a few days over the holidays anyway.
He is in a contract year so if he remains un-extended he might put in a better effort.

The Oilers have the worst goaltending tandem in the Canadian Division. without Klefbom the worst blueline. Their bottom 6 forwards are dreck. Oiler fans can cry that McDavid and Drasaitl will drag them into the playoffs, but in four of the last 5 years, they haven't been enough to get them in the playoffs.

I think another year of no playoffs in Edmonton is highly likely with that lineup of potatoes.

In terms of goaltending, how do we rank them?

I think you have to look more at the tandem than the starter because of the condensed schedule. Both guys will get starts for every team when you factor in B2Bs, COVID risk and injuries.

(Tier 1)
Jets
Flames
Habs
(Tier 2)
Leafs
Canucks
(Tier 3)
Oilers
Sens

I would hate to be in a team with playoff aspirations that needs to start a 40? Year old Smith more than a handful of times.

That's a lot of faith in Murray.

Holtby has a higher floor than the guys in OTT, imo.

When it comes to starters I'd go:

Tier 1
Jets
Habs

Tier 2
Flames
Leafs

Tier 3
Sens
Canucks

Tier 4
Oilers

When it comes to tandems I'd go:
Tier 1
Flames
Habs
Jets (backup sucks but Hellebuyck is the best)

Tier 2
Canucks
Leafs

Tier 3
sens

Tier 4
Oilers
