Don’t appear to be any fatalities so far, luckily. Hopefully that stays the case

sad to see on Christmas.

Sounds like an attempt at a police ambush

early hours, so its understandable that there is some conflicting reports

So a bomb that was setup as a distraction, I've seen this movie before, which bank did they hit?

Summery of the days events. Sounds of gunshots, and a warning from the camper with the bomb in it. Calls to emergency about shots fired to draw in first responders and damage to the AT+T switch. Possible human remains found near the blast.

No claims of responsibility and no chatter from known terror groups or extremist groups.

So was this perhaps a probing attack, to see what they could do and how authorities would respond? Exploding at a quiet time of the day, and warning people ahead of time just seems so weird...

Not really weird if the objective was to scare people and knock the phones off of the grid with a blast in from the the AT&T switch. Also the fact that there were guns fired, and a shots fired call into 9/11 tells me that they wanted to kill first responders.

sounds like the bomb units are in downtown nashville looking for more bombs.

Is it a fact that guns were fired? Because of how crazy loud the shots sounded there's some speculation is the gun shot noise early on was from the RV's speakers and if they wanted to kill the first responders why warn them with a 15 minute countdown thru the speakers that a bomb is going off?

This could turn out to be crazy suicide or possibly a murder.

We're just speculating here right.

There was gun shot noise that some residents reported, and also there were calls in to report gunfire, before the residents heard gunfire (Just on what I've heard).

To me (speculation), a ominous voice basically doing a countdown combined with shots fired was designed to bring as many police into the area expecting them to deal through processes in terms of both guns fired and evacuation. There were still cops in the area when the bomb went off. This to me does sound like someone that wanted to kill police officers. I'm sure that the person who set this up was looking for a more aggressive approach to the bomb in the RV as well, because they watch too many movies.

Look I'm guessing here, but this thing sounds like a cop trap.

I don't think it is likely that something this elaborate in a public area can be completed without leaving a tonne of evidence. I suspect eventually we will know who did it and what the motive was. Or if there is a lack of a motive, which seems unlikely though considering the effort that must have went into it. Being an FBI investigation though, I don't suspect any unessential information to be released soon.

If we are just speculating, I am going to go with a very bitter person committing suicide in a spectacular fashion that can't be ignored.

I guess we'll find out.

however, considering there was apparently zero chatter about the event, it sure seems like it would have been easy enough to park nearby a police station or fire station and simply detonate...

the countdown was 15 min, and accounts was that it took almost 10-15 longer for the bomb to go off...instead of having a countdown for 30 minutes and detonating in 15, which would have probably been more effective if wanting 1st responder casualties.

Whoever was the perpetrators did not simply park at a Walmart on the saturday before Christmas which does suggest, in combination with the recorded message, that high casualties wasn't the intent...pure conjecture as the gunshots were real (as multiple residents reported it) I wonder if there was someone that hard cold feet prior to the act...

its very strange for sure.

The U.S. Attorney for Tennessee made the revelation Sunday at a presser, saying 63-year-old Anthony Quinn Warner is, indeed, the man they believe detonated a bomb in an RV that was camped out in front of the AT&T building in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning.
Quote:
He also said Warner died at the bomb site, and that human tissue discovered -- and later analyzed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation -- matched Warner's DNA profile.

As for the RV ... officials say that, too, also belonged to Warner. They linked the VIN number to him. It appears the vehicle had been in his possession for a while, as it had been seen parked at his property as recently as last year. Neighbors also ID'd it in interviews.
Quote:
Still no word on motive -- although there's speculation he might've been paranoid about 5G tech, but that hasn't been confirmed. The feds also say they can't link his act to any type of ideology they've picked up on in the early days of their investigation. As a result, they aren't dubbing it as terrorism just yet.

Fortunately, Warner himself is the only fatality from the bombing ... which is pretty miraculous considering how big it was. A few people were injured, but not critically.

The moments leading up to the explosion add an extra layer of unease as the why continues to be a mystery ... Warner had an alarm blaring for several minutes telling people to evacuate, and then right before his bomb went off -- cops say he played Petula Clark's "Downtown."
