Interesting story about Theresa Feaster and the 2012 draft...
Quote:
Jay Feaster was serving as the general manager for Calgary at the time and as she often did, Theresa accompanied her father to the draft, this time in Pittsburgh. As it turned out, the Flames would select Mark Jankowski in the first round and goaltender John Gilles in the third round. Both were set to attend Providence College.
During the weekend, Leaman was invited to the Calgary suite, where he had the chance to meet the Flames’ general manager. In the midst of that conversation Feaster mentioned his daughter was attending Providence and had an interest in the sport.
It was a door that opened as Leaman brought her on as a student assistant.
After the first game of the 2012-13 season, Leaman invited Theresa to come in and help break down film, not sure how an undergraduate student would feel spending her night looking at game film instead of finding the closest social event.
Theresa didn’t hesitate.
”I jumped at the opportunity,’’ Theresa said. “I’m not sure if they were expecting that or not, but I thought it was a great opportunity, something that I wanted to do and be a part of.’’
Needless to say, Feaster made quite the first impression on Leaman.
”All the assistants had left the room and I asked her her thoughts on the game and she was dead on about everything,’’ Leaman said. “So she’s not just a video and analytics person, she knows the game. The best thing she does is she knows the players, she knows the players well. She knows when players are competing, she knows when players are on and when players are off. And when I asked her that I thought she was dead on and I’ve trusted her ever since.’’
The game ends 3-2 for USA, and with a shot-disparity of 39-16. Wolf did not see many of those, but looked solid to me (save for the small stick-handling gaff at the start).

According to this Kuznetsov is playing RD and paired with Daniil Chayka (ranked #13 in McKenzie's 2021 draft rankings) for tonight's game. Will see if that actually is what happens in game.
