How voters rank Trump a historically bad president
Quote:
Poll of the week: A new Fox News poll finds that 42% of voters say history will remember President Donald Trump as one of the worst presidents ever.
An additional 8% say he will be remembered as below average, while 22% say one of the greatest, 16% say above average and 10% say below average.

What's the point: With the Trump presidency coming to a close, historians and Americans alike are starting to put Trump in historical perspective. How they think of him now versus in a few years may change.
Still, it's very clear that historians and a lot of voters believe history will remember Trump as one of the worst ever, while a not insignificant amount will see him as one of the best ever.
Pollsters have been asking Americans about how history will take stock of different presidents at the end of their presidencies since Gerald Ford.
No president has garnered as many strongly negative feelings as Trump. The only president who came even close to getting as many low ratings (in a five-category question) was George W. Bush in a Gallup poll at the end of his presidency; 36% said he would go down as a "poor" president.
Americans are usually fairly resistant to giving such a low rating as they have assigned to Trump. No other president hit even 20% for the lowest rating. The average percentage for the lowest rating (either poor or one of the worst) had been 14% before Trump.

Trump campaign told to preserve all documents related to Sidney Powell and Dominion Voting Systems
Quote:
President Donald Trump's campaign legal team sent a memo to dozens of staffers Saturday instructing them to preserve all documents related to Dominion Voting Systems and Sidney Powell in anticipation of potential litigation by the company against the pro-Trump attorney.
The memo, viewed by CNN, references a letter Dominion sent to Powell this week demanding she publicly retract her accusations and instructs campaign staff not to alter, destroy or discard records that could be relevant.
Quote:
Morgan wrote in the memo, "The Allegations within the letter dated December 16, 2020 reference the Campaign and lawyers who may have performed work for the Campaign. Even with references to the Campaign and some of its outside lawyers, the Campaign does not reasonably anticipate litigation against the Campaign at this time. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Campaign views it as prudent to establish a litigation hold at this time to protect and preserve all rights and privileges that may exist under the law." The Trump campaign has declined to comment.
Quote:
Now, anticipating that Dominion could take legal action against Powell for her claims, Trump's attorneys instructed staff to preserve "any and all records concerning Defending the Republic, Sydney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis, Lin Wood, and each of their associates and paralegals" and "all records concerning Dominion."
"Please make sure that relevant personnel are aware that these records must be maintained," the memo states. "The files or boxes should be labeled, "DO NOT DESTROY WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FROM THE GENERAL COUNSEL'S OFFICE."
The memo added: "In the future, you may be contacted by counsel and asked to turn over copies of relevant information in your possession. For now, preserve all such records until further notice. Other than for purposes of preserving records in response to this request, you should not discuss this matter or potential lawsuits with anyone inside or outside the Campaign."
Lol, wow. These people really are living in their own insane cartoon fantasy world. Hollywood's best screenwriters couldn't come up with this s***.
In the movies, this would all be happening off camera while the hero celebrates at the denouement of the movie. Maybe a random line by the bad guy saying "I'll make you pay for this!" while they get hauled away by the authorities.
Every single one of these people who hitched their wagon to Trump and sold their souls are truly despicable human beings. Karma will eventually come for all of them, I'm sure of it.

Yeah, you're going to be incredibly disappointed.

Attorney General William Barr used his final public appearance to undercut U.S. President Donald Trump on multiple fronts Monday, saying he saw no reason to appoint a special counsel to look into the president's claims about the 2020 election or to name one for the tax investigation of President-elect Joe Biden's son.
In the course of breaking with Trump on matters that have been consuming the president, Barr also reinforced the belief of federal officials that Russia was behind a massive hack of U.S. government agencies, not China as Trump had suggested.
...
A special counsel would make it more difficult for the incoming attorney general and president to close investigations begun under Trump. Doing so could lend a false legitimacy to baseless claims, particularly to the throngs of Trump supporters who believe the election was stolen because he keeps wrongly claiming it was.

Newsmax Airs Clarification Of Election Fraud Claims After Legal Threat
Quote:
Newsmax on Monday followed Fox News in running an extensive fact check of claims of election rigging against President Donald Trump, after one of the targets of the conspiracy theories, election tech company Smartmatic, threatened legal action.
Smartmatic has fired off legal threats to Fox News, Newsmax and One America News Network, demanding repeated retractions after on-air personalities and guests floated claims that its election software was rigged, that it had ties to the Venezuelan government and George Soros. In fact, Smartmatic said that it provided support only for one locality in the recent presidential election, Los Angeles County.
Quote:
Newsmax’s John Tabacco read a statement on air, telling the audience that “Newsmax would like to clarify its news coverage and note that it has not reported as true certain claims made about these companies. There are several facts our viewers and readers should be aware of. Newsmax has found no evidence either Dominion or Smartmatic owns the other, or has any business association with each other.”
The statement refuted a list of claims that had been made on air since the election. Newsmax has seen a spike in ratings as it on-air figures have pushed Trump’s claims that the election was stolen from him.
Tabacco went on to say that “no evidence has been offered that Dominion or Smartmatic used software or reprogrammed software that manipulated votes in the 2020 election.”

Maybe if you believe in that; I don’t. It’ll never happen.
Alabama GOP Rep. Mo Brooks and fellow House conservatives met privately on Monday with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence as the lawmakers prepared to mount a long-shot bid in January to overturn the Electoral College results that made Joe Biden the official winner of the election.
The discussion focused on Trump's baseless claims and conspiracies that the election was stolen from him, participants said, and lawmakers emerged confident that there were would be a contingent of House and Senate Republicans who would join the effort and prompt a marathon debate on the floor on January 6 that would spill into January 7.
Pence's involvement in the meeting is significant because he will preside over the joint session of Congress that would count the electoral votes that day. Brooks said that Pence attended "different parts" of the meeting.
Quote:
The effort is doomed to fail but would create a spectacle that Senate GOP leaders want to avoid. And if a House member and a senator object to six states' results, it would lead to at least 12 hours of debate, in addition to the time for casting votes on each of the motions, potentially prolonging the fight until the next day.
Senate Majority Whip John Thune of South Dakota, the No. 2 Republican, told CNN the House conservative effort is futile and urged Senate Republicans not to join the effort.
"I think the thing they got to remember is, it's not going anywhere. I mean in the Senate, it would go down like a shot dog. I just don't think it makes a lot of sense to put everybody through this when you know what the ultimate outcome is going to be," he said.
Quote:
Other GOP lawmakers have also confirmed their attendance at the meeting, including Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, who told CNN: "We talked about a lot of things."
Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert, a staunch Trump defender, said this when asked if Trump urged him to object to the election results at the meeting: "He didn't urge anything, he didn't need to, I've been planning on objecting all along."
Rep. Jody Hice, a Georgia Republican who attended the meeting, tweeted: "I will lead an objection to Georgia's electors on Jan 6."
Sources told CNN that other members were there, including Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, a prominent ally of the President who has been urging him to continue the battle.
While the House conservatives have virtually no chance at succeeding, it would put many Republicans in an awkward spot. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his top lieutenants have urged senators not to join House conservatives because they would then be forced to cast a vote that would make them choose between Trump and the will of the voters.
What they do in the senate is basically irrelevant anyway; the Dems have the majority in the house and both the house and the senate would have to vote to overturn any EC votes.
But they'll probably get a few objections in.

Yep, but when has making others bend over wasting time and resources ever stopped this clown? I mean there is nothing else more pressing that government should be focusing on right now. Right?
